ALL CRUISES FOR 2020/21 COULD BE CANCELLED FOR RE-SET
Cruise ship news ^ | Oct. 21, 2020 | Bruce

Cruise ship news today has cruise lines looking at the possibility of having to cancel all of their sailings out of North America for 2020 and 2021 because they could be sailing at only 30% to 40% occupancy with about 5% of their fleets to start according to a Wall Street analyst.

The cruise lines would then re-schedule their itineraries for cruises they could actually deliver on and notify all of their customers when they can take their delayed cruises.

There are millions of customers who have booked their cruises from as far back as 2018 for 2020 and 2021 departures that will not be able to get their cruise holiday because the cruise lines know that they will only start sailing with a small portion of their ships with a very restricted occupancy load.

If the US Department of Justice steps in the cruise lines could be forced to offer massive refunds to cruise passengers for all cruises booked for 2021 and even 2022.

This doesn't mean all cruises will be cancelled in 2020 or 2021.

The film and the article pointed out that with reduced ship capacity, and less ships sailing, the Cruise lines are going to be unable to handle all the presently scheduled cruises, and will have to cancel them.

The thought that came to me is the Cruise lines are not going to be able to make money to offset their borrowed debts.

Operating with reduced capacity, and a lot less ships, some will have to declare bankruptcy and reorganize, IMHO.

These are just opinions and you certainly can disagree. -Tom

“Cruise...please...”

Today while I was in the car with my wife looking out over the water, I was thinking we should be on the Norwegian Gem heading back to Boston from Bermuda.

We should have been in Rijeka, Croatia today...just a few miles from Slovenia...

We replaced that April cancellation with the Pride to Bermuda and this morning we would have arrived there until Friday...

Let me take a guess. The Communist Chinese have plans with this and all other industries to go in a buying spree. These nee Communist Chinese companies should be banned in every way possible from US operations.

Defiantly an over built industry before Covid. But now it will mean the destruction of the major companies. They won’t survive.

President Biden can use the vessels for homeless village. They are already to receive the homeless and we can feed them and give the the luxury that they deserve for voting for Biden.

When the shutdowns first started, I figured Norwegian Caribbean would be the first of the big 3 to face bankruptcy.
CARNIVAL-ROYAL Caribbean - NORWEGIAN.)

Based on the re-spread of COVID around the world, and trying to get cruise ships to meet exceptionally high and onerous standards of prevention, which will greatly reduce passengers, it appears to me in the next 6 months all 3 will be looking at reorganizing. (CHAP 11 Bankruptcy.)-Tom

I think it’s time to Close Life altogether. Because there are illnesses. Let’s just call it an era and stop everything. We just can’t risk anything. Let’s quietly lay down and die. It’s really the only thing to do.

Vote for Biden, first - then die so the Democrats can afford to pay off the government employee unions. :)

Unfortunately a lot of people feel that way; I don't.

Pres. TRUMP wanted to open up this country in April.(Easter)
That was 6 months ago , and the saga continues with no end in sight. - Tom

Cruise ships are ready-built laboratories for socialist utopia experiments. Democrats love science, right? This is the opportunity of a lifetime to buy a floating country. When it comes time for mass suicide the captain can just go into the hold and just pull the plug.

I’m in FL, booked on a Jan cruise with Carnival. I hope they do the lower capacity. Looking forward to less crowds.

This is completely ridiculous and outrageous!
A big industry together with all its supporting/related industries are crumbling before our eye and no one can do anything about it, not even the big executives of the cruise industry. This shows how powerful the bureaucrats, elected or unelected, have become!

Americans are resourceful. Eventually the cruise industry will come back to life, but the older people who enjoy cruising and travels will not have that much time to wait around, or have to waste precious years to wait around.
For those who deride cruising for whatever reasons, have you thought of all the people whose livelihood is destroyed? Of the economic impacts this has?
Get off your high horse and do not begrudge the pleasures other people seek just because they are not your cup of tea! You enjoy your life the way you see fit. Let others enjoy their lives the way they see fit!

Pres Trump is the only one that can save the cruise and travel industry.
Get him re-elected and urge him to lead the way.
