Popeyes is adding chocolate beignets to its menus nationwide for a limited time, starting Monday.
The fried chicken chain only has one dessert on its menu permanently, but it’s trying to create more limited-time treats to lure customers to its stores.
Beignets are a dessert staple in New Orleans, where Popeyes was founded.

I prefer them plain.
So I guess I’ll never get to try one of those right after I never get to try one of their chicken sandwiches.
Does Popeye even have coffee?
With some chicory coffee at the Cafe du Monde in the Big Easy.
If I go to Popeye’s it’s for the popcorn shrimp and red beans & rice. But no more than a couple of times a year - that stuff is addictive.
Yep. Worth waiting in line for.
They actually look pretty good.
I was cruising along my local interstate today and I saw not one but two billboards from McDonald’s advertising all its sweet breakfast pastries...are we having a national sugar craving? Hits the pleasure centers and makes you feel better, if at least only for awhile.
Not sure.
I know..
I think it’s a winter thing.
Great, something else for the masses to riot over when Popeye’s runs out...
Me too. I wouldn't like them filled with anything. We don't have any Popeye's around here. I can make Beignets at home if I want them. Haven't made them in years though since it's just me.
Paging Chris Christie.
Your beignet orders are ready.
Popeyes will not miss you.
They are the only fast food restaurant our family (3 generations)goes to.
The good thing is we don’t have any locally.
Sweet tea or good coffee... Oh yeah.
We have one that you can never get to because of the long lines for the drive thru [only] extending out into the street and down the block................
We’ll know the success by the number of people covered in powdered sugar.
