Multimillionaire televangelist Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Texas netted $4.4 million in bailouts through the federal COVID-19 relief program, records show.

The Houston megachurch, the largest in the nation with 52,000 weekly congregants, received the forgivable Paycheck Protection Program loan in late July, the Houston Business Journal reported Sunday.

I like when $600k went missing from the church safe a few years ago. Joel said “Somebody stole my walking money!”

If the church is shut down how do you pay your employees. Don’t care for his ministry but I doubt he is the only church.

That is the objective of the ‘great reset’. eliminate the middle class and make them serfs; slaves to the elite.

From this perspective you see that everything they have done, while appearing to care about ‘the people’, only serves the globalist dream of the great economic and social reset.

Just wait until they devalue the dollar and force you into using all digital, but PROGRAMMED currency called FedCoin. Complete control and zero privacy. That is coming too.

I stress programmed because this is different than cryptocurrencies.

Questions:

1. What do you people have against Joel Osteen? Why the hostility to him? I know very little about him.

2. Why is there animosity to his church apparently participating in the paycheck protection program? If his church has employees who were kept on the payroll and avoided unemployment, due to legally participating in this program, why is there hostility to a legal business getting legal benefits of some sort?

Most small churches are depending on their congregations (who are also hurting) to keep supporting their church’s. And they don’t have national tv audiences and incomes. This is a travesty

Hmmmmm, wonder how much he gave to BLM? Saw his skinny arse marching with the maskless wonders in Houston over the non-murder of George Floyd! No wonder I don’t like him....this is a silly idea but somebody needs to grow a pair and have him account for every last dime and GIVE IT BACK TO THE GOVERNMENT!!!

The thought of ‘religion’ as a business is not very appealing to me personally.

I’d be curious if the Swaggarts and the rest of their kind would apply as well for assistance. Talk about a corporate operation.

Just selling an Airstream or two would seem to be the first move to make but begging the gubamint for taxpayer dollars, that might go down a bit hard with some folks.

I wonder if Biden Inc. would be so bold. They likely employ hundreds in their ‘businesses’ too.

"Osteen's net worth was variably reported to be $40 million and $60 million in 2017.[30][31] He lives with his family in a 17,000 square-foot mansion in River Oaks, with an estimated value of $10.5 million.[32] Osteen says that as senior pastor, he draws no salary from the church, which has an annual budget of $70 million,[33] and that he instead relies on income from book sales.[34]"

If true then what's the bug? If his personal income is from book sales and not the Church then it's got nothing to do with PPP. However it doesn't really fit with Christ's strictures too well and is pretty unseemly. He's probably going to have a tough time with that eye of the needle.
