My husband fought with me about keeping ours, so I put it into my own name. I write the $26. per month check out. I took the cheapest option, so I don’t have long distance service. But it’s mostly for emergencies if we lose power/internet/cell service.

Yes, they are trying to force everything to online transactions.
But my comment was really more about if “they” shut down the internet, even for a short time, we still have a life without it. A really good life. Real instead of virtual. Real life has existed for centuries. :)
People need to remember this. Those of us who grew up before the internet know it well; the young ones need to be told.

Well, there was a protest against Hawley in St. Louis today, and I think it drew MAYBE 2 doz. people. Of course it was on the news even here, hundreds of miles away. I wish there was a quick way for people in the STL area to organize a counter, with at least 1000 people showing up.
