For the Pessimist: Don't forget that there's still a lot that's good about America - Things might look bad now, but keep it in perspective

Politics can be fearfully depressing if you mainly focus on the sensationalism of the tabloid-like media and view trivial news and trivial information too seriously and too often. Stop and think a little about the many things going right in the country.

There is definitely a trend against the corrupt ruling establishment since about 74 million voted for Trump. I’m sure that some thinking Democrats would also like to make America great again in a slightly different but similar way.

The pandemic only killed a small fraction of one percent of the population. The killing potential of most pandemics turned out to be highly exaggerated for the general population.

The internet has made worldwide communication relatively cheap. It has made shopping almost effortless with online ordering, saving much time, effort, and money. Less and less on the internet can be gotten for free, but at minimal cost, you can get a variety of reliable information and entertainment into the convenience of your home.

For humans who dislike the poor quality and high cost of the educational system, there is an abundance of online learning courses that you can take at any age. You can self-educate on almost any topic that strikes your fantasy at a reasonable cost. Many more are wisely beginning to ask one question before enrolling for courses in a college or university and going into heavy debt: what are the job prospects after graduation? If the job prospects are poor, some will start opting for vocational training instead.

Want to fix something around the house or learn a new skill? Then use a search engine or search YouTube and other do-it-yourself websites for instructions on how to do a thousand and one things you wish you knew how to do.

The democrats always are the ones who bad mouth everything. They are the party poopers and leave a trail like in San Francisco in the streets.

Hospitality: What’s taking them so long to drink it, we want to fill it up again. Capitalist: There’s plenty more where that came from.

The Pessimist, By Ben King

Nothing to do but work,
Nothing to eat but food,
Nothing to wear but clothes
To keep one from going nude.
Nothing to breathe but air
Quick as a flash ‘t is gone;
Nowhere to fall but off,
Nowhere to stand but on.
Nothing to comb but hair,
Nowhere to sleep but in bed,
Nothing to weep but tears,
Nothing to bury but dead.
Nothing to sing but songs,
Ah, well, alas! alack!
Nowhere to go but out,
Nowhere to come but back.
Nothing to see but sights,
Nothing to quench but thirst,
Nothing to have but what we’ve got;
Thus thro’ life we are cursed.
Nothing to strike but a gait;
Everything moves that goes.
Nothing at all but common sense
Can ever withstand these woes.

One could argue that there was a lot of things that were good about ancient Egypt and Rome too.

We have to ask our selves this: What happens to people who boldy proclaim freedom and equality (instead of empowerment, favortism, and equity)? The former get fired, cancelled, sued, and ruined. The latter get a pass, the charges dropped, promotions, and great press.

I’ve heard of these things you refer to, “thinking Democrats”, but their existence is like bigfoot, unproven.

So the light at the end of the tunnel is not a sign there’s a train coming?
Ignore the vibrations, the noise, the horn blaring, and the stated intentions of the leftist engineers.

Let me see if I get this right. I can use the internet to buy crap that I don't need. I can fix crap that if I didn't have in the first place wouldn't need to be fixed. I can isolate and educate myself. I should be happy.

Actually, my heart is filled with hate. I don't like that.

Don’t be sad or optimistic. Do something. The first and by far biggest problem is to fix the flawed approach that underlies mainstream conservatism. If you want to know what it is, you need to look no further than the name. The rightwing has allowed themselves to be pigeonholed into a nowin position as a stone simply slowing down the Left’s inevitable march rather than a fully fledged ideology for the future in its own right. The Left either wins faster or it wins slower. Conservatives need to be more than conservatives. They need to offer something more tangible than ‘not doing what the Left does’. We can take some pointers on how to begin to go about this with the more youthful alt right groups that have arisen on the internet if we can keep the ‘mainstream’ from working with the Left to destroy them.

Here’s what’s still good about America: AMERICANS! We’re still here. A corollary to that is the sea of red electoral map. We’ve got all the resources, all the potential, all the ambition, all the vitality. So those blue pin pricks had best not try to molest the great red juggernaut. They’ve already gone too far.

We all just have to swim at the end of the pool that doesn’t have turds bobbing in it.

Meh, it could be 300 million against the ruling establishment, but if all we are willing to do is vote, then it accomplishes nothing when the rats are counting the votes and nobody is willing to hold them to account. So I’m not seeing a silver lining to this.

They should say that 74 million votes were counted for Trump. The real number of people who actually voted for Trump was much larger but will never be actually known because the Dominion machines all got reformatted, a whole bunch of election officials refused to cooperate, a lot of papers were shredded, and any dissenting information was actively suppressed by corporations run by progressive billionaires.

I am a pessimistic-optimist. America died on January 6, 2021 but because I am a Christian I know we win in the end . . . it says so in the back of the Book!

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalms 9:17).
