17 year old kids and 700 horsepower engines do not mix well.

One tiny silver lining here is that the parents may have a lot of legal exposure in civil court because the kid is a minor.

They both seem like very immature boys.

One look at the kid’s picture tells you he’s troubled.

The Bible says Children are a blessing. Man seems to turn just about every blessing from God into a curse. Stupid parents, spoiled kids, dead woman. Sad.

A car like that is a very high precision, and dangerous tool. I would never give it to a young driver. Certainly not if you care for them. Most (non-alcohol) collisions involve 16-24 year old drivers. When I was young your dad insisted that if you get a car at 16 it will be an older beater cuz it’s going to get dinged up. Certainly not a speed monster.

That, sadly, proved prophetic.

Sounds like his father is the one with the ‘brain damage’.

Dickson said he believed the Lamborghini was racing with an Audi, which was also found at the scene but was not involved in the crash. Aww, that's nice. Somebody raised that Audi right.

The Indian Muslim father is worth over $200 million. I hope the family of the murdered secretary -- who recently graduated college and was going to law school in the all -- get every penny.

Fricken horrible, the dad better hope I’m not on the jury (and I won’t be, being in Texas). Normally I’d want to hear both sides before passing judgment on something like this, but this is the British Media reporting on something in the US, so it’s very likely accurate.

The yearly insurance premium for a 17 year old would probably approach the cost of the car. I know it does for sport motorcycles. I imagine sports cars like this would be similar.

From teh article:
[S]treet racing had become a problem in LA since the coronavirus lockdown began last year.
“It’s been particularly egregious during covid, especially at the beginning when people were locked down and staying home. People had open roads, particularly surface streets, that they were basically able to do whatever speed they wanted on due to the lack of traffic. So we have seen an increase in reckless driving.”
