JUST IN: Rush Limbaugh’s Timeslot Will Reportedly Be Taken Over by Conservative Duo Clay Travis and Buck Sexton

Conservative pundits Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will soon take over Rush Limbaugh’s radio timeslot, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

“The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor,” the Journal reported.

“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices – those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” president of iHeart Media’s Premiere Networks Julie Talbott said, according to the Journal.

Travis is the founder of conservative sports website Outkick, which was recently acquired by Fox News.

“No one ever replaces a legend, and Rush Limbaugh is the most influential and listened to radio voice across multiple generations,” Travis said in a post on OutKick. “But the battles Rush fought aren’t ending. If anything, they’re just becoming more intense. And I think intense and rigorous and intelligent debate has never been more important in this country than it is right now.”

Sexton is a former CIA intelligence officer-turned-conservative commentator, podcaster, and radio host. He also hosts a nightly show on conservative digital platform The First.

“Needless to say, I could not be more excited, @ClayTravis and I are going to do a great show together. Get ready for it,” Sexton posted on Twitter, along with an American flag emoji.

Since Limbaugh’s death in February, Premiere Networks has been airing reruns of segments of Limbaugh’s show in the noon to 3 p.m. timeslot, with guest host commentary between clips.

“Sexton is a former CIA intelligence officer-turned-conservative commentator”

So they’re replacing Rush with a disinformation agent, is what it sounds like to me.

Anybody know anything about these guys? If they start attacking Trump or propping up McConnell it’ll be bad.

The guest guides , along with Katherine Limbaugh and James Golden , having been doing a great job of keeping Rush’s wisdom alive, relevant , and pointed towards evolving events with the dipshit Biden collective travesty & disaster. I willyotally miss the Limbaugh show,as it has continued since he passed.

Imo, what needed to happen was this 2 months ago.

Sorry, but old content regardless of the memories is, we’ll... old.

It can be brought up, but a show has to have a living host.

>>’And I think intense and rigorous and intelligent debate has never been more important in this country than it is right now.’

IS there anyone on the Left who can engage in honest, rigorous, and intelligent debate?

Rush Limbaugh didn’t need to provide “equal time” he WAS equal time to the media.

Oh Lordy. Now I have to wonder what our radio station will do now.

It’s apparent they gave up on their Rush slot and put one of our locals in there.

But for a couple years we’ve had Sexton in the evening (still don’t know why I’m supposed to know him....they pushed Levin to late slot for this guy).

So, will Sexton have no solo show, and station has to re-shuffle again? Or does Sexton get 2 shows? Aarrggh!

Dan Bongino just isn’t cutting it for me. Hope these two are better. I only listen to Chris Plante and Mark Levin lately.

The answer to the question of who can replace Rush is nobody.

I hear Sexton in the evening sometimes and he’s fair.

It's been a while, but I've heard Buck before. IIRC he's done numerous fill-ins for Rush. To my knowledge, he's always been a staunch supporter and defender of President Trump.

Also, one thing that I believe we'll like is that he won't be afraid to get behind the conservative candidates at primary time. Rush always used to avoid weighing in directly (to me, kind of a hardcore "Reagan Rule" guy) where I think Buck would be less cagey.

He kind of reminds me of Dan Bongino.

Don't know anything about the other guy. And neither will ever compare to Rush. But I think you'll like Buck.

Yes Bongino is ok for sub.

Not sure how big I am on Sexton. Still wondering why they put him on locally.

Paired with someone might be better. Don’t know.

I wish they’d try Officer Tatum or some other charismatic black commentator.

Interesting pairing.

I’ve heard Clay Travis before on fox. It was definitely a sports-centric show but I’m here to tell you that he had no problem injecting politics in his show, and you may claim he is not conservative but I question why. He definitely seemed to be a strong contrast from the social justice anthem-kneeling type talking heads.

I have not heard Sexton but his background makes him a dynamic fit with Travis.

I thought the slot had already been determined - Don Bongino. This could be an effort by the Never-Trumpers and/or the Commies to undermine the slot. I don’t know the creds. of those named. I do know Bongino is solid as a rock. People have to realize, no one will be up to Rush’s standards.
