Conservative pundits Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will soon take over Rush Limbaugh’s radio timeslot, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
“The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor,” the Journal reported.
“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices – those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” president of iHeart Media’s Premiere Networks Julie Talbott said, according to the Journal.
Travis is the founder of conservative sports website Outkick, which was recently acquired by Fox News.
“No one ever replaces a legend, and Rush Limbaugh is the most influential and listened to radio voice across multiple generations,” Travis said in a post on OutKick. “But the battles Rush fought aren’t ending. If anything, they’re just becoming more intense. And I think intense and rigorous and intelligent debate has never been more important in this country than it is right now.”
Sexton is a former CIA intelligence officer-turned-conservative commentator, podcaster, and radio host. He also hosts a nightly show on conservative digital platform The First.
“Needless to say, I could not be more excited, @ClayTravis and I are going to do a great show together. Get ready for it,” Sexton posted on Twitter, along with an American flag emoji.
Since Limbaugh’s death in February, Premiere Networks has been airing reruns of segments of Limbaugh’s show in the noon to 3 p.m. timeslot, with guest host commentary between clips.

I’ll bet there re FReepers who don’t like Deace just because of who his syndicator is.
He did.
Buck’s one week Spot was The Girl Rush LOVED to Mock. Maria Harf.
I’m Convinced Buck dated her and I’m sure it was a SHtruggle
Oh, Harfwit.
I am a Native Nebraskan and was born and raised to hate all Iowan’s, but the Steve Deace show is first class.
When he goes on a rant, it is scorched earth.
I haven’t listen to the show in months, probably not since the second week after his death. I’ve been pulling for Mark Stein as the replacement but now it is apparent they’re going in a different direction.
Well guess they lost me as a listener permanently. So sad.
Bongino talks too fast, as if he is trying to sell some miracle health product in a commercial Ad.
You mean the sports guy from Outkick wants to do politics? Interesting. Jason Whitlock just left his sports site and did a interview with Glenn Beck and was on Louder with Crowder. As for Sexton he spent some years at The Blaze. Started radio show on The Blaze Radio Network but went syndicated as The Blaze left radio. Now it is simulcast on The Five. But looks like it ended to make way for new show.
Meant The First not The Five.
The “old” content depresses me because it reminds me we have not evolved at all. The Left is still full steam ahead.
P.S. Buck did end his old radio show which simulcast on The First so network made him anchor a 1 hour nightly news show like Tucker Carlson.
Bongino is on Cumulus. In several markets Cumulus ran Limbaugh but in many others it did not. In my area Entercom ran Limbaugh. Cumulus ran other programming during Limbaugh like Dave Ramsey or local shows or rerun of Chris Plante. It changed a lot. They now do Bongino.
.
It’s IHurtRadio. Hardly Patriots. I stopped listening to talk after Rush died. I have never had better blood pressure, and am still on top of the news. I got tired of TickTockTickTock and nothing, NOTHING happened.
WMAL is owned by Cumulus. They will run whatever the Suits say.
I’m not crazy about him either but glad he distributes Deace.
He has his online shoes and interviews. Www.steynonline.com
Steyn has said on his own show that although honored to fill in he didn’t want a permanent gig
I just haven't adjusted to podcasts yet.
I really liked Jesse Waters early on, and still appreciate him a great deal, but he's a pretty boy, and in some way a kind of teachers' pet, always the smartest kid in the class.
Rush's great gift was his ability to plow, not sift, through tons of material and make it all of a piece by the end of three hours...
Churning through that stack o'stuff like King Kong through a flattened rain forest lol...
Yep. By far the most focused, hard-driving, intelligent, and entertaining show around now is Bannon’s. I’m with you.
I know James was suffering from cancer the same time Rush was. Not sure if he is still fighting it or not, but I agree, he is the only one that couod save this franchise. Rush’s biggest mistake was not training a replacement.
