Winston Marshall, a founding member of folk-rock group Mumford & Sons, announced Thursday that is leaving the band so that he can “speak freely” about political issues.
Marshall took a break from the band in March after sparking a social media storm by tweeting admiration for “Unmasked,” a book by right-wing writer-activist Andy Ngo that attacked far-left militant groups collectively known as antifa.
Marshall was accused online of endorsing the far right, but said Thursday that “nothing could be further from the truth. I condemn unequivocally all political extremism, be it of the Right or Left.”

There goes one of my favorite bands. I don’t think I want to support or bother with a band that supports this. I hate the politicization of everything!
Andy Ngo is “right wing” according to the AP. Is anyone left wing in their eyes?

Been several years since this band “peaked” anyhow. Is their genre still “a thing”?
Are they a “Festival band”? Are they booked for any big gigs this year?

Events in Nazi history are closer than they appear. He endorsed a book exposing the Nazi like tactics and violence of Antifa and the left launches an avalanche of vilification against him.
So ironic that most of his attackers would call themselves “liberals”.
