Are we there yet? Yes, we are. A look at Aldous Huxley's Brave New World: Revisited (1958). This man was a visionary.
Yes, Huxley was among the first to see it all coming ... a population devoted to getting stoned, widespread acceptance of casual sex, the divorce of human reproduction from sexuality, the pathetic irrelevance of religious institutions (”the Arch-Community Songster of Canterbury”).

The state Senate passed a bill to legalize hallucinogenic drugs for Californians 21 and older. Could psychedelics become the next cannabis?

The libertarian in me would like to try ecstasy just once. I’’m 65. Won’t hurt anyone so what’s the problem?
Huxley was right. Our Brave New World has been forming since the 70’s.
P.J. O’Rourke once called it St. Joseph’s Baby Acid.
Which is the one where the effects last only 15 minutes or so? That would be my choice. Street drug possession is effectively legal in WA now, too, but I guess I don’t frequent those particular streets.
see my tag for many years
Are you including yourself as part of “anyone”?
How do you know with certainty this will not hurt anyone?
Huxley said he wrote the book as a warning. And he said his mistake was that he put it too far into the future.
And i am not ripping your choice, but i am saying you should be more accurate. You are “pretty sure” it won’t hurt anyone, you don’t know that. You are “hoping” and “betting” it wouldn’t, not that you know no one will get hurt.
Orwell did for the same reason. and he was even of a socialist leaning bent.
Ha, Ha.
I miss Bronson!
DMT aka dimethy-tryptamine, reportedly very intense. Never took that one.
The tour that kicks off “Brave New World” starts by showing how they sexualize the youth from birth. It’s how they take away their souls.
