A documentary about the man made famine in Ukraine where on Stalin's order millions of people were starved to death in 1932-33.
While famines may have their onset in climate (or WEATHER), they are inevitably exacerbated and exploited by POLITICS, as History has shown us time and time again. Ukraine, Biafra, and Eritrea are prime historic examples.
Thanks for posting. True about Walter Duranty. He’s long gone but of course, they’re still doing it.
Ping to one of your favorite historical eras. Artificial famine in Ukraine via Stalin.
( Not to mention the Brits did the same to Ireland in the 19th Century.)
A real hero and genuine reporter was Gareth Richard Vaughan Jones. He reported the truth about Ukraine. Later on while in Mongolia he was murdered. Three movies so far have been made about him.
I know of a woman who knew that Stalin has those millions starved to death. She worshipped communism and considered the mass murder to be a triumph for Land Reform. She was from the University of Chicago School of Sociology. Born in 1915, she was a social worker. Land Reform. She died in 1979. Today, there are many just like her. Communism and slavery of the farmers are just simply called collective farms. Collective farms. A completely harmless and wonderful concept. No big deal. Just like Boy Scouts summer camp. Socialist wanting a coercive utopia will murder millions to achieve slavery. And they will be gleefully happy as they go about the genocide.
But socialism hasn’t been tried, or so nitwits say.
For some reason the link you posted doesn’t work for me. Is there a different link to this article? Looks good!
In South America there are hundreds of varieties of potatoes. Ireland only had one. When a mold came along it devastated the crop because there was little genetic variation to resist it . That is what caused the famine.
There was plenty of food in Ireland at the time, but it all got shipped to England.
It was a deliberate attempt to liquidate the Irish population.
what caused the famine was the British export of food. The Brits had ship loads of mealm grain they could have left to Ireland to stem the famine, but they sat on their hands and exported it. A little known fact that the IRA knows about.
You cab rotate in that factoid here:
There was no Irish potato famine; the starvation of Ireland was planned in London. The million-plus Irish who starved to death did not die from lack of potatoes. They died from lack of food; from the gunpoint removal and export of the abundant wheat, oats, barley, beef, mutton, pork, poultry, eggs, butter, milk, fruit and vegetables that they themselves produced. Nassau Senior, economist to the Crown, is quoted as saying in 1845, “only one million Irish are likely to die; and that will not be enough to do much good.”
When in 1845, the potato blight, phytophthora infestans, finally spread to Ireland from America via Europe, the British Government responded by withdrawing troops from its empire and redeploying them to Ireland, 100,000 of them, to implement its food removal policy. The reason? The Times of London reported Sept. 31, 1845, “in England the two main meals of a working man’s day now consists of potatoes.”
The British 40th Regiment of Foot, which my grandfather joined in Abbeyleix in 1857, had been reassigned in early 1845 from Australian death-camp management to Ireland. Its new mission: removal of south County Galway’s foodstuffs to the port of Galway for export.
The “famine” ended in 1849, when British troops stopped removing the food. While enough food to sustain 18 million people was being removed from Ireland, its population was reduced by more than 2.5 million, to 6.5 million.
The many grain kilns and mills that I saw operating in 1946 are indicated on the 1837-41 Ordnance Survey Map of Ireland. That map indicates that grain kilns or mills were more ubiquitous during the starvation than, for example, churches, further refuting the lie that “the potato was crucial to Irish survival.” CHRIS FOGARTY Vice Chairman Friends of Irish Freedom Chicago, Feb. 20, 1995
Since this is a British source it might be a Whitewash but it looks more like your typical Government incompetence is what did it along with the Fungus.
The same thing happened in Ukraine. They actually harvested enough wheat to feed the entire population of Ukraine for 2 years. Instead the Russians took it all.
Thanks for posting this.
My Great-Grandparents were murder by Stalin.
My Grandfather said when the Bolsheviks came on to their farm to take everything they had, their cry was “For the People”.
Sound familiar? HR1 is the For the People act and Harris’s campaign slogan
Works! Thanks!
Duranty was not alone for this fraud. Check out the Kliefoth Memo. The NYT had an agreement with Stalin to report only what Stalin OKed. Famine has bee used repeatedly by “progressives.” The famine in postwar Europe was created by Harry Dexter White (a Soviet agent) and Henry Morgenthau.
Was just going to say....nothing has changed, with the NY Slimes.
