This isn’t about the rule of law; this is ensuring that people are too frightened to work with Trump or any Republican ever again.
There are so many things wrong with the story of Thomas Barrack that it’s hard to know where to begin. Briefly, Biden’s DOJ charged Thomas Barrack, the man who chaired Trump’s inaugural fund, with illegal lobbying for the UAE. Then, for the 74-year-old Barrack to get out of jail, a federal magistrate imposed a $250,000,000 bail on him, along with other serious restrictions on travel. This is a travesty of justice and a clear threat to Trump allies, past, present, and future.

Donald Trump‘s billionaire ally Thomas Barrack is being released on $250 million bond after being charged with illegally lobbying the Trump administration on behalf of the United Arab Emirates.
The 74-year-old reached a deal with prosecutors on Friday that will see him released from custody while he awaits trial on charges of illegal lobbying.
A federal magistrate judge in Los Angeles signed off on the conditions of the agreement, which will include surrendering his passport, complying with a curfew, and wearing an ankle bracelet with GPS monitoring.

Mr. Podesta did the same thing, didn’t he, and he wasn’t even prosecuted, was he? Do you see any prosecution for the multiple crimes of Hunter Biden? The gang at the FBI who made up the Russia collusion story? The bozo at the State Department who refused to implement Trump’s order withdrawing from Syria and kept US troops in danger there? Hillary Clinton’s staff who smashed her laptop supposedly subpoenaed? The Antifa rioters who burned federal property, engaged in threats and mayhem? Not a one but this guy gets hit with a 250 million dollar bond??? Sickening.

I don't, either, but I seem to recall reading THIS somewhere: "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."
I suppose the argument would be that if you can afford it it is not excessive, but for this sort of nonviolent, selectively and partisanly enforced alleged crime?
If the code you cite is written in cursive, and this is an Obama judge, the explanation is clear to see.

$250 million dollars bail. No doubt he has been murdering thousands of people, drugging and raping women, and drinking the blood of small children.
Oh, wait...he was a lobbyist and had something to do with Trump? That makes sense. If you saw Trump once on television, and jaywalked, the standard bail would be at least $10 million.

We have had hundreds of lobbyists for Israel over the years, and not a single one was fined or chastised in any way. We’ve also had lobbyists for a host of other countries as well. It seems that only Trump supporters are ever prosecuted for such routine activity.
