“The body was located in a bathroom window” at a hotel, which was not the resort where Snow was staying, according to the tweet translated from Spanish. Benito Juárez is about a 30-minute drive, or 10 miles away, from the beachfront hotels in Cancun.
Snow’s cause of death has not been released, and results of an autopsy are pending. Family members believe he was murdered after possibly being kidnapped and trying to escape, according to media reports.
Elijah Snow’s wife, Jamie Snow, told family members her husband had been found dead Monday morning while they were staying at a Cancun resort, and she was told he had possibly fallen over a wall, KTVT-TV reported. The family did not believe that explanation, and hired a local attorney who obtained crime scene photos that suggest Snow was beaten to death, according to KTVT-TV.

The wife lied, am I reading that correctly?

Indeed. That being said, the last time I visited Mexico was in 1992, and i have no desire to go back.

The Fiesta Americana Hotel earns a rare 5-star rating in Cancun. Wonderful experience.

Why would anyone go to Mexico in this day and age.My first thought.
My second thought: Mexican forensics - ". . . he had possibly fallen over a wall. . . . crime scene photos that suggest Snow was beaten to death.

I was going by the snippets you provided. Question is, why would he go back to the bar when he was there supposedly celebrating their 10th anniversary? Something sounds very suspicious about the whole story if you ask me.
If I did that with my wife, I suspect the same outcome would would be the result.

It’s very confusing. The translated tweet suggests he was not where they were staying but the body of the article suggests he went back to the hotel bar and she went to their room only to look for him at 4am told he was found dead. The way the article is written suggests “the family” doesn’t believe the wife’s story. It’s a very badly written piece sourced from a local news channel.

Yeah, I agree with you on that point, for sure.

Maybe he went back to the bar, met a little señorita, went to HER hotel room, her boyfriend came in unexpectedly, the firefighter tried to get out the window, the boyfriend said "No way Jośe", and the rest is history.

Yeah that thought crossed my mind exactly, giving the wife motivation to hire someone to go attack him. 🙂
