This is strangely written, but interesting.

Aspartame is 200 instances sweeter than desk sugar.

That's why they can use a lot less of it.

She started drinking it in 1982. In those days it was made with saccharin, making it not much different than 1982 Tab. When Nutrasweet came on the market, Squirt came on board first, then Diet Rite/RC100 and Diet Pepsi. Diet Coke was last using a mixture of saccharin and Nutrasweet for years, as Aspartame in those days cost a lot more than saccharin. The restaurant mixture (where there are no ingredients labels) included saccharin in the mix even longer.

Why did it take so lengthy?

That's what she said.

Seems to be written by someone not accustomed to the English language. I see where it could be in certain sentences a translation mistake. My guess is it’s a Chinese person writing in English.

No more Diet Coke for me.

I refuse to "be less white."

Diet Coke tastes like salt water.
I miss the sea, but not that much.

The only things I've been drinking these days is water, Luzianne iced tea and adult beverages occasionally on my non-working nights.

However, there's an Asian grocery store nearby that sells this:

Pretty good stuff.

When I was a little kid, my mom switched from Tab to diet Coke when it came out. I was a dedicated diet Coke drinker....almost as fanatical as this woman...for about the next 40 years. Then about 5 years ago I discovered Coke Zero which I liked even better and I switched to that.

Then after almost 40 years of being one of the Coca Cola corporation’s most loyal customers, two things happened.

First Coke decided it was OK to tell their employees to be “less White”. This kind of disgusting racism would not be tolerated if it were directed against any other ethnic group on the planet but its somehow OK to direct against White people?

Then Coke’s British CEO who is paid millions and millions of dollars per year came out against Georgia’s very mild (too mild) election integrity laws. Georgia isn’t even anywhere near as strict as several blue states like New York or like Biden’s Delaware....yet this ponce thinks it OK to whine about this after an obviously stolen election in Georgia?

That’s all it took. About 4-5 months ago I decided the part of my “Whiteness” I could get rid of was drinking Coke products. I haven’t had one since then. The good news is I discovered several other drinks like flavored water and sugar free Calypso lemonade that I really love. I’m never going back. They lost this customer for life all because they just had to inject their sickening leftist politics into everything instead of focusing on serving the customer.

I stopped drinking carbonated beverages twenty-something years ago. But it was a time when I was in the military and on swing shifts that I was forced to drink diet soda. In fact I drank diet soda to the point where regular soda tasted too thick and syrupy and just too sweet but diet soda filled the bill.

Now, how did I start drinking diet soda?

Midwatches. 6pm to 6am, Skeleton Crew all night long. The day workers drank all the regular soda so at about midnight when I wanted to have a soda with my sandwich, I would go out to the machines in the hanger and they were all out of regular soda but they had plenty of diet soda left so diet it was.

Reads like a translation into English.

I drink one Dr Pepper, every day. No more, no less. Should the apocalypse come to pass, I’ll be like Woody Harrelson in Zombieland, searching the world for stray cans of corn syrupy endorphin-releasing goodness.

...She didn’t have plenty of bodily negative effects, however she did lengthy for the drink.

I don't think the author passed the "I'mnotaRobot" test.

Looks like a grammar check replaced "Long" with "Lengthy" in the quote above.

It reads like it was written in a foreign language and translated by computer. No live polyglots were involved in this translation.

That said, the info is solid. Diet soda sweeteners are multple times as sweet as regular sugar, and increase cravings for other sweets. They are more harmful than drinking a regular cane sugar coke (manufactured in Mexico, which the bodegas sell for twice the price).

I used to drink 2 to 4 a day for about 25 years and quit. 2 years and haven’t missed them.

It's likely a double translation (from English to another language and back to English) from a piece by Abby Ellin originally in The New York Times, Aug. 11:

I Was Powerless Over Diet Coke "After almost 40 years as a diet-soda addict, my body suddenly started to reject my favorite feel-good companion."
