Actually correct. Accounting for the usual ~2 week lag, fatalities rose much more slowly in Israel (almost linear 7-day curve) than did corresponding cases (exponential).
At present it appears cases may have quickly peaked and begun heading downhill, much like Israel's very sharp previous peak. However, vaccines likely have little role in that, nor was there really ever more than hope they might.
Makes sense. “Breakthrough” cases are going to mostly be in people with a weak immune system, and once one is significantly ill with COVID, the progression past that may be helped by the vaccine, but co-morbidities can still kick in, and then we are talking about people likely less healthy / less able to fight off complications to begin with.
OTOH, people like Scott Gottlieb think the case numbers are way off, so, who knows. But, even then, the numbers of documented breakthrough cases are still exceedingly small.
What IS certain is that unvaccinated Covid cases are doing by far most of the dying. Every health pro I have feedback from is seeing that on their local level(s).
Old couple, got vaccinated several months ago, one getting Covid is no surprise (likely a weak immune system and time too), then whoever got it 1st gives the other a snotload of Delta virions. No source of “immunity” in God’s or Man’s creation can prevent such things sometimes — all Man can do is improve the odds.
Anyway, I may not like Jackson or his politics, but I still wish him and his wife a speedy and full recovery.
