It’s mind-blowing, but communist apologists still argue that capitalism’s death count equals communism’s. Here’s a challenge to any communist out there. For a true, apple-to-apple comparison, break it down to 20th Century peacetime demographics. No wars. Just two co-existing systems of government. Linked, you’ll see the communist death count. There is no capitalist count.

It’s roughly 100 to 1. The problem with Communism is that people who get to vote before being executed will want to rid themselves of it.

Exactly. Even if by some miracle they came out ahead on some metric, it’s still an evil system. How can you confiscate and redistribute people’s money, their property, and most of all their aspirations and autonomy, and claim to be metal equivalent to another system or even on the side of the angels??
No one could ever calculate it but how many years of life has capitalism added to mankind?

I love it when someone looks it over closely and plays devil’s advocate. All constructive feedback is great. A population ratio would add a lot...forcing the whole challenge onto more concrete territory (with more concrete borders). I certainly appreciate it when anyone looks over the numbers, shares them (and makes their teenagers read them too!)
Exactly. The Black Book of Communism provides solid stats. If anything, it undercounts.
The Commies could argue that the “Colonialism” death count was due to capitalists, but a significant percentage of it was King Leo of Belgium.

I would say the percentage of capitalists who will die is identical to the percentage of communists.

When I have argued with leftists, they blame things like the Irish Potato Famine, and the Great Bengal Famine on capitalism.

The commie apologist arguments are variations of “If you make an omelet, you need to break some eggs”.
The best answer for that is - “You surely broke a lot of eggs, but where is the omelet?”
Practically all people in Communist countries suffered a life of fear and misery. That’s may be the worst crime of them all, the billions of people living in utmost misery!
The first communist country was Russia - went commie in 1917
The Irish Potato famine lasted from 1845 - 1852.
So, yeah - that doesn’t count. Start the count for both system starting in 1917... Commies have killed millions of people - starvation is one of their favorite tactics.
