DC Comics has ditched the mention of 'The American Way' from Superman's motto in favor of the superhero fighting for a 'better tomorrow.'
The 83-year-old character's longstanding adage used to be 'Truth, Justice and the American Way'.
But the publisher said that his new mission statement will be 'Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow.'
DC did not specifically address why they had ditched America from the slogan, but instead maintained that they were focused on 'evolving.'
'To better reflect the storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor Superman's incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world, Superman's motto is evolving,' DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee said at the DC FanDome fan event on Saturday.
'Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him forward with this new mission statement.'
The superhero's backstory is about as American as it gets — a boy raised in Kansas by two farmers who wears a costume in shades of red and blue that nod to the American flag.
The last time a Clark Kent-centered film hit the big screen was 2013's Man Of Steel with Henry Cavill playing the titular character.
He also appeared as Superman in 2017's Justice League and the 2021 extended cut: Zack Snyder's Justice League.
A nod to his American identity, in Justice League his character even says: 'I'm from Kansas. It's about as American as it gets,' but Snyder said he had to fight to keep the line in the movie as he strove to portray 'that perfect mix of Americana'.

Liberty is the founding, fundamental principal of America and what it means to be American.

I will not support modern “comics” and their endless barrage of movies all tearing down decency. As it is, They’re made for adult children, clinging to the genre sentimentality yet adding their pointless raunch and foulness and general low class behavior. These movies are not for actual children at all.
Reeve’s Superman was the last really great one, and he still mentioned the American Way. They’ll probably bleep that out of upcoming showings.
Superman’s son would be Infinisexual, not that wimpy Bisexual.
It’s better to just close the doors instead of ruining the company name with this crap.
Look at it this way, too.
This character was created by American JEWS. THEY came up with the idea of this perfect man which for them, included being unabashedly American.
These woke post-modern spoiled brat relentlessly anti-American cynical fools who are writing what Supes is now are blatantly flying in the face of the creators’ visions.
This dishonors the people who created it and wrote it.

I think today they are mainly aimed at young ‘adults’, aren’t cheap by any means and are kind of a niche item.
Halloween has undergone a similar change over the decades.
“The American Way” is a means.
“A Better Tomorrow” is an end.
Hayek presciently wrote about the impossibility of socialism, which focuses on a utopian end without concern for the means to that end.
DC Comics now embraces The Amerikan Way.

Probably 25-30% of the “kids” who come to our door on Halloween are teens between 14 and 18 years old and don’t even bother with costume or mask or anything...And most are minorities.....
Change the name to D.C. Comics, and go all the way and change Superman's Motto to "Communism, Equity and Build Back Better!"
