When I was a waiter we would call them “Canadians”, “Oh damn, I got a bunch of Canadians on Table 14, so much for that tip.”
So true, Canadians, Monday’s, or Amish have all be used in the service industry to avoid the HR types. HR where people go to “work” because they’re not qualified to do anything else. In 20+ years of corporate dealings single handedly the most worthless humans on the planet have been the mouth breathers in HR departments.
Generally true for cab customers as well, although as working unto the Lord I give my best service to every customer.
And I have had poor and generous tippers from every racial category.
It’s made me sad a couple of times picking up darker-than-a-paper-bag customers. A few have thanked me effusively for stopping to pick them up. That was sad. One man carefully informed me “I am reaching into my pocket to get out my wallet” which is of course considerate of him but I felt bad they he believed he needed to say that.
