Four former Oklahoma County Detention Center inmates allege their civil rights were violated during their time inside the jail in a federal lawsuit Tuesday.
Three of the inmates claim they were forced to stand, handcuffed behind the back, for prolonged periods of time while the popular children's song "Baby Shark" played on loop at a loud volume in a nearby room. They claim they experienced the same thing at different times.

As a grandfather of three little girls, I can sympathize with the inmates. Definitely cruel and unusual punishment. Brilliant on the part of West Palm Beach to rid the area of homeless though.

It could have been worse. They could have played Celine Dion emissions at top volume.

I for one, have a problem with this. I do. They should play it at a loud volume in the SAME room.
Yes indeed.

There was a man who was paralyzed yet fully conscious. They played shows meant for young kids like Teletubbies or Barney for years before it was discovered he still had his mind working. He was able to describe the hate he had for Barney.

Most jails and prisons have a formal grievance process, so these a-holes can file complaints like this. In fact, inmates themselves usually work on the grievance committees. If they filed a grievance, and it was shot down, or if they never bothered to file a grievance while inside, then this is nothing more than a frivolous lawsuit. The secret to not being “oppressed” by the jail/prison systems, is to not do anything that will get you sent there.

I deny any rumors about me going into a Target toy section, finding a display box full of musical baby sharks and quickly pressing the play buttons in every one of them before fleeing the scene.

Years ago I worked in an office where we had a radio playing over the intercom all day. This was when her Titanic song was on the radio every five minutes. I told a coworker I was ready to rip wires out of the building.

Watched an Aussie TV series in which a guy was detained, locked up by himself in a cold room and forced to listen to ‘We Built This City’ (Jefferson Starship) on an endless loop. Talk about torture.
To: DadOfFive
Free Bird on a loop is more efficient... and I love Lynyrd Skynyrd.
