I was reading through a monthly summary of prescription drug benefits of a family member. And I saw this notation in section 4 regarding updates to the plan’s drug list. It says that beginning November 1, 2021 “prior authorization“ will be required for ivermectin. And that the insured or their doctor will need to get approval from the plan before they will agree to cover the drug for that insured individual. Now, I am not sure how difficult they will make it to get the preapproval, but this certainly smacks of more corporate practice of medicine, And more layers of complexity and bureaucracy. I do understand that an insurance company would have an interest in reducing their costs. However, ivermectin is off patent, and incredibly inexpensive to manufacture. Furthermore, as either a therapeutic or preventative measure I find it hard to imagine anything else with a greater cost benefit for Covid sufferers. When a person is in a fascist system, they come to realize that the government does not truly care about the citizens. I know I am preaching to the converted. But I wanted to give others a heads up on ivermectin coverage by insurance plans, and see what others may have experienced.
Just buy horse ivermectin and take a pea-sized drop.
Tastes like absolute $h*t but it killed my covid in a day.
Order from India. Get enough to cover you and your family for an extended period.
Do you know the names of retail farm supply places that carry it? My wife tested positive for covid yesterday. I tested negative twice in the last 2 weeks but we are both quarantined.
Very hard to find on the shelf at tack and feed place. And we live near horse country.
But thanks for the suggestion.
Your kidding me, the cost of this drug is pocket change.
Stop caring what anyone but your doctor and reviewed studies says about what you treat your most valuable asset with and life will get easier. Every time the RX pad comes out, tell him/her you are paying in cash at the walgreens and will only get the perscription filled with a generic or a $3/day drug. You will get the RX hits of the 1980s that are generic, cheap, in stock, widely tested and have near zero marketing cost per tablet.

The number of people who bitch about lifesaving and life extending drugs at $7/day and sit in blue states paying property taxes in excess of $1000/mo ($33/day) must be at least 35% of the elders from across the US.
If drugs make your life to expensive to live, look at your tax man and call a moving truck.
Thank you!
My 79 year old vaccinated friend tested positive for covid prior to the booster and was prescribed ivermectin. The symptoms were gone the next day.
Medicare payed
Find a monoclonal antibody clinic in your area and go if things get worrisome. I know of ten people who got that treatment. I made it through a moderate covid case with supplements and rest.
The link shows not available at stores or for delivery.
Why do you care if insurance covers it?
There is freedom in paying out of pocket for things the bureaucracy says you can’t have.
If you can’t get Ivermectin get Quercetin, Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 to take with your daily multi-vitamin. Keep your blood circulating while in quarantine, that is don’t just sit around all the time.
Bttt
Any local tack store should have it. Just call around.
Give your wife a pea sized amount asap and then one 24-48 hours later. It might come with stomach pain, but the faster you get it to her, the quicker the COVID will be gone.
I was wondering when the health insurance companies would jump into the game. They will be mandating the vax or not covering. I think they are already doing this to companies and corporations. I suspect many are already offering discounts if all employees are vaxxed.
Bet they are trying to slide in the backdoor of the agenda unnoticed and under the radar of public scrutiny. Wish I was still in business, I would go “shopping” for group insurance and research the offers and coverage terms. They are only going to share this with customers with a legitimate business and serious inquiry for quotes and offers.
I don’t know what your co-pay is, but you can get it at kroger for about 30 bucks..
It is cheap enough that coverage is not an issue...it is availability.
Ivermectin is cheap enough to just bypass insurance and pay for it yourself.
