Ah yes those were the times, of gas lines, inflation, and somewhat good music.
Everything old is new again, except the music.
There are musical purists who say Blondie jumped the shark with this song. That they sold out and went commercial. I dont care either way, just noting it as music history.

I love watching her. Not just because she’s pretty, but her facial expressions really match the lyrics. She was and is a great performer.
That album had some catchy songs - “One Way Or Another”, “Pretty Baby”. Produced by Robert Fripp, too.
I went to youtube and watched her sing. Enjoyed it til the end when youtube turned the “pain in the ass” into “had a heart of glass” and ruined my memory.
Also never noticed before that they didn’t pay too much attention to teeth whitening back then.
Fun trivia: The line “Soon found out, had a heart of glass” was originally “Soon found out, was a pain in the ass.”
The song might have had the title “Pain In The Ass” if they hadn’t replaced that hook line.
And can for the love of all things holy, can we get Miley Cyrus to stop doing horrible covers of songs? Stay in your lane, Miley!
Blondie / “Dreaming”
(from the 80’s, the best music decade of all time)….
I saw her (them) play at CBGB. I must have been 19 or so. They were a regular act at Max’s too.
And, Deborah Harry. She didn't die young and stay pretty.
That’s what I heard Debbie singing when I first heard the song. Thought it to be rude.
I’ve long considered this song to be the beginning of the musical Renaissance that was 80s music. Yes, I know it came out in 1979, but this was when music began to change from the dreadful garbage that was the 70s, which I refer to as the Dark Ages of music. I consider the 90s to be the Golden Age of music.
Only problem with threads like this is when you watch the video, you keep clicking on the next one and the next one till before you know it, you’ve spent an hour watching all their songs........LOL!
