Read the email reproduced below from Dania Matos, UC Berkeley's new vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. And weep. Or laugh. The language alone -- an inadvertent parody of academic incomprehensibility -- is enough to provoke uncontrollable laughter or tears, depending on one's state of mind.

This is a summons from UC, Berkeley's new Vice Chancellor for "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion," a lawyer and 2003 political science graduate of Brown, presumably sent to all faculty members (and to many others - postdocs, grad students, who knows?), informing them that their presence is "requested" at the "political orthodoxy training seminar cum hate whitey and excoriate excellence festival" (my title) announced by the good comrade Vice Chancellor.

Highly paid diversity officials are the domestic version of Soviet political commissars. Stalin would laugh out loud that Americans pay 50K plus to attend a gulag. Unbelievable.
When they are loading us into cattle cars for our final trip to the re-education camp, will we be surprised?
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion should read Diversity, Inclusion and Equity or DIE.

The head diversity officer at the local public university makes over $300K and has a fairly big staff, around 80 if my memory serves me correctly.
Dead people can't be surprised...and that is the only way that I will go...dead, with my cold hands clutching my empty rifle.
