Most of the Western world has transferred its manufacturing sectors to China. Every single day, Chinese container ships ply the world’s oceans, fanning out to every continent except, maybe, for Antarctica. We’ve long known that those ships are carrying cheap goods and the West’s economic destruction, but The Sun is contending that those same ships are likely to be disguised missile launchers.

CHINA has been secretly developing Trojan Horse-style missiles hidden in shipping containers that can be unleashed on enemy ports, experts warn.
Military analysts believe the country’s huge fleet of freighters and fishing vessels could be turned into warships with the use of the secretive container missiles.
Disguised as a regular shipping containers, they can be sneaked on board a vessel to blend in seamlessly with the hundreds of others on board.

I was saying that they would do this ten years ago. Just imagine all those ships parked off of California right now. Even if only a handful of them are missile launchers, it will be a bad day for us.

The key question for the US military is to quit asking about peoples sexuality and feelings and start asking, if they were China, how would you take Taiwan.
Taiwan is vulnerable. The reward would be the same as Adolf Hitler taking Austria (he needed the gold in the banks), they need the chip manufacturing. Thus, it’s a obtainable strategic and financial target.
First, I would attempt to get countries to not recognize it. Politically, that would delay rescue long enough for me to take the island and control it. By then it wouldn’t matter. Pay off a few politicians worldwide, maybe make deals with families of important people, and you could achieve that delay. Think Hunter Biden.
Next, I would disguise the invasion. Troops loaded in containers and transported to ships. Container ships, with cranes to offload equipment for the initial assault. Container ships with missiles for surface to air and surface to surface support. Finally, literally zillions of drones for ground support and anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare. All coherently coordinated with AI. I would overfly their airspace to make them believe it would be a military invasion, that they could see coming.
Then I would drive the container ships to at least three beachheads in out of the way places. Something like Red Storm Rising but with drones, multiple beachheads.
By the time the US and other nations got by the paid off politicians and acted, it would probably be over with. Then, with the entire chip manufacturing and other manufacturing, the world would have to pound sand.
That’s probably how I would do it.
The serious problem with your scenario....you’d have to track and target virtually every single Chinese freighter....which means world logistics come to a halt, and if you thought you had a shortage problem right now....this is just the top portion of ice berg.
Its all sci-fi until they find one.
The Sun article is full of mights coulds and maybes.
BUT...its a great idea if you are trying to win without an all out fight. Couple this with the idea of the Chinese running port operations and it could be a real horror sh^t show.

That said, they might want to raze some city slums and downtowns. That would demonstrate their capabilities and clean out some rat nests.
They never saw the foreign policy implications of a strong, belligerent communist China.

Yawn I can’t see this happening, it is possible but probably just be easier to launch missiles from a satellite, not even sure if that might be just on the edge of fantasy too.

Ding ding ding ! Right on . But folks keep blaming China . US always searching for a bogeyman to blame for their own greed , power hungriness , etc...
Russia has a similar program with their oil tankers and container fleet. Other countries such as Iran also have similar ideas.
