Democrats aren't used to losing. Which is why they have been screaming into the air for the past six or so years (literally, if you recall the footage).
Democrats are used their tricks and intimidation tactics working.
They're used to being bailed out, especially by some compliant, fellow-traveling or retiring (or both) Republican.
But nobody bailed them out this time. Not even the great and glorious Rob Portman. Not even Lisa Murkowski (Dianne Feinstein is now too old and feeble to corner her and convince her to help out). Not even the ever-conciliatory Mitt Romney. Not ONE of the retiring Republicans, not ONE of the squishy Republicans.
And two of their own could not be convinced to go along with their latest hegemony scheme.
Their political machine has broken down. Their propaganda devices don't have the same effect they once did.
And they're looking around at each other wondering "what do we do now?? The only things we fight for are climate change, transgenders, illegal aliens and abortion, and the people aren't for those things. And elections are coming, and we failed at controlling elections. What do we do now??"
A reckoning is coming. And it couldn't happen to a nastier group of people.
Led by Chuck Schumer, they just LOVED blocking George W. Bush's judges. They just LOVED forcing EVERY Trump nominee through cloture.
But NOW they don't like a check to THEIR power. And they FAILED to remove that check.
There's only 14 of Schumer's militant minions up for reelection in 2022 (including Schumer). But there's 23 up for reelection in 2024.
Oh yes, a reckoning is coming.

It's completely reasonable if your a totalitarian scumbag like Schmucky Schumer. I've watched this guy for 30+ years accumulate power by strong-arming his way to the Senate chamber. From the bowels of NYC comes the biggest turd to ever hold the gavel in the US Senate.
He'll run for President some day. Mark that.
Every time the Democrats stamp their feet they get a couple weak Republicans to wet themselves and comply. Sometimes they even get enough Vichy Republicans fighting for the chance to surrender that Schumer can allow a couple of at-risk Democrats to make a show vote against a bill. It was not crazy to expect it again. For once, surpringly, the Republicans held together. It might be arrogant of Schumer to expect our side's surrender, but it is not crazy.

Drive by Schumer. Ran against the best friend the Jewish people ever had in the Senate, Alfonse D’Amato. Just because Schumer was Jewish (allegedly).
Schumer would put out a press release on Sunday morning during Catholic Mass about some evil that D’Amato had perpetrated. D’Amato would walk out of church and a pack of reporters would be screaming about the supposed crime or evil he had committed. It would all shown to be false, but none of the reporters ever went back to Schumer and ask about the source. And Schumer would do it again a few days later.
