Ridiculous. Steroids or not he was already a star.
Are they allowing anyone from the 90’s?

I’ve always felt there should be a Baseball Hall of Fame ‘outhouse’ - a separate wing, maybe even a separate building for players who were clearly outstanding but did something to besmirch the game. Pete Rose, some of Black Sox players, a number of the steroid boys would be obvious candidates.

Most players want to compete on a level playing field without drugs. If their competitor is using drugs they are inclinced to do so alike.

The solution is not difficult.

1. Random drug tests during season and off season. These must be often.

2. One positive test and you have repeat testing immediately by 3 other labs. If all are positive, an automatic suspension of 2 years and large fines.

3. The second positive test after suspension will get the “death penalty” of you never play professional sports again.

It pains me greatly to see the old records being beaten by men using steroids. When old records are beaten legitimately it give me joy and respect for the new champion.

Excluding the Bad Boys from fame never seems to work.

One of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world was the Temple of Artemis. A magnificent structure that was sadly burned down by someone named Herostratus. It seems that Herostratus wanted to be famous and, since he didn’t have very much going for him, Herostratus decided that burning down a major landmark was the best way to have everyone know the name of Herostratus.

As part of his punishment, it was decreed that the name of Herostratus would be stricken from the records. No one would know the name of Herostratus, and Herostratus would not be famous at all, as no one would ever know what Herostratus did.

But, obviously, someone wrote the story down. The dude’s kind of famous.

When Bonds was a kid playing for the Pirates he was shaped like a normal human being. Good speed and fun to watch. He was good enough to get them to the post season, and then he would choke when the chips were down. Always a brides-maid. That’s how I remember him.

The post-Pirates Bond was a swollen, man-made cheat-freak. It will raise my currently very low opinion of the powers that be in MLB if he doesn’t make the HOF.

And yet why do I know this author would wholeheartedly enforce transgender women into the hall of fame for their awesome bravery…

I quit caring a long time ago. Now days anything the media has a say in is worthless. Many writers voted against Curt Schilling because of his political beliefs. Also consider, many ballplayers in the 60’s took amphetamines.

If the Hall's shrine is the most amazing, singular place, one that has Jackie Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Ted Williams and Babe Ruth in its halls -- one that honors greatness -- it should be tough to get in. Really tough.

Okay, but we'd need to know how many players got in who weren't moral exemplars. Baseball's early days were rough and wild. Were professional athletes really more moral and cleaner living back then than they are today?

Shouldn’t there be a story in the Babylon Bee about Barry Bonds’s pharmacist being elected to the Hall of Fame?

I lived on the same street as Barry when we were kids, about 5 houses down. He was arrogant even as a child. My oldest sister used to babysit for him; she called him “the brat”.

What about NFL quarterbacks breaking records when the rules changed to protect the quarterback and previous quarterbacks had to take a beating to get their records?
