In the 2002 Tom Cruise film, “Minority Report” a government unit called Precrime arrests people before they have committed any offense based on information obtained from a trio of mysterious siblings with some sort of psychic powers. We aren’t quite there yet, but the U.S. government appears headed toward a similar effort using information obtained from artificial intelligence (AI).
The idea is that AI has the capacity to analyze data and predict events, specifically in this case regarding insurrection. In this case, though, we are not talking about coups or revolutions abroad. We are talking about insurrection right here at home, specifically a repeat of the attempted “revolution” of January 6, 2021.
Yes, Precrime is coming to arrest you. A recent Washington Post article on the topic had this headline.
“The battle to prevent another Jan. 6 features a new weapon: The algorithm”
WASHINGTON POST The proponents of this approach could not be more excited. “We now have the data — and opportunity — to pursue a very different path than we did before,” said Clayton Besaw, of CoupCast, a machine-learning-driven program based at the University of Central Florida. He was celebrating the fact that we can now – in his opinion – prevent any reoccurrence of January 6th by acting in advance to stop “political violence.”
The idea behind this concept of predicting acts in advance is to empower AI to monitor a broad range of factors, economic data, “social trust” levels, weather, etc., and produce predictions of behavior in advance of the occurrence of any events. We won’t need to wait for a mob to form or even for a group to organize. We will arrest you before you even know you want to form a group.

I am sure I could concoct an AI to predict genocide pre crime by leftists. I could use my intuition to tell you who would be guilty.

It is simple. Are they a registered democrat? If so they are a criminal.
Hitler and Stalin would have been jealous.
This was the kind of thing that was done in the old Soviet Union.
I would bet that AOC and the rest of the left-wing nuts are all in favor of it.
Frank Herbert may have been correct when he had a future timeline in Dune where there was the Butlerian Jihad, a crusade against computers, thinking machines, and conscious robots. It may come to that.
The problem with AI is that it’s programmed by people. The people who program those algorithms can manipulate them to suit a particular request.
How about using it to determine who’s most likely to shoplift?
Pretty simple. I’m on board.
The Patriot Act needs to be repealed, TheDHS needs to be abolished, and also the NSA.
Adding to the list... rioting.
How about "peacefully protesting" a Walgreens into a pile of ashes. Who is likely to do that?
.
And the TSA, DOE, BATFE, FBI, etc.
Dem Governors to their aides: “Sounds promising. Let’s look into this. Maybe predict people who may want to refuse lockdowns, masks or vax proofs.”
MAFA.😄😄 Make America Free Again.
I agree, but the Republicans we elected created that stuff and they won’t be taking it back.
18 year old black male, enjoys rap music, spends moderate amount of money at local convenience and liquor stores. Lives in high crime area. Does not own a car. No high school diploma or GED on file. No father listed on birth certificate. Several minor interactions with police but no arrests. AI concludes subject will be picked by President Biden for SCOTUS next open seat.

Wouldn’t it be nice?
LOL, solid.
