>>> The memo includes a quote from Carlson: “And how would the US behave if such a situation developed in neighboring Mexico or Canada?” <<<
This has been a recurring talking point and narrative for the pro-Russia, pro-Putin faction on Free Republic.
And I haven’t seen a reasonable response to it from the pro interventionist side.
I don't know anyone in that "faction."
I belong to the faction that doesn't GAF about what happens halfway around the world when the biggest threats to my life and liberty are right here in the U.S.
You left out Cuba in 1962. Some of us were around and we cheered on JFK as he explained the Monroe Doctrine with it's sphere of influence to America. We were a better country then, much smarter too.
You are correct. Just Putin Puffer talking points. Zero credibilty...just witness the destruction of Ukraine.
“...the pro-Russia, pro-Putin faction on Free Republic.”
2016 called. They want their, “Putin! Russia, Russia, Russia!!!” hoax back.
(How’s it feel to be in love with Soros, anyway?)

Is that not a reasonable question to ask, MercyFlush? We (the US) already reacted like Putin did, in Cuba 60 years ago. How do you not see a parallel?

We know exactly how we would react. Remember the Cuba missile crisis and the Bay of Pigs? That’s how we would react.
If you’re an uninterested third party with no skin in the game you could understand how what Russia is doing in Ukraine is not that different than what we did in Cuba.
As usual, it all depends on whose ox is getting gored.
A talking point the neo-con warmongers can’t respond to.
You’re touting America’s most leftist rag that laments Putin is not commie enough as your source
This is how low neocons stoop
They believe anything fits their narrative
It’s ridiculous
Better yet, what if Iran sets up bases in Syria near Israel? You would undoubtedly support whatever actions Israel took to ensure its security. You know its true, hypocrite.
Pro-West actually. Couldn’t care less about Putin or Russia except to avoid a war with a nuclear giant. Tucker is dead right. There is no need for war not to support Ukraine. That doesn’t equate to being pro-Russia. Uou realy need to read a basic primer on logic.
