Mad Vlad, whose forces are bombing women and children in Ukraine, spared no expense on the six-deck Scheherazade.
Vladimir Putin's superyacht Scheherazade’s official cost could be close to $1billion
A worker who helped build it said: “Every surface is marble or gold. There are countless swimming pools, a spa, a sauna, a theatre, ballrooms, a gym, two helipads. It’s like a mini city.
“And it is an unimaginable amount of wealth when the average Russian’s salary is £5,000 a year, and people there are struggling to eat.”
A tiled dancefloor lowers to turn into a pool. It is thought to be one of only two on ships in the world — the other is on Putin’s yacht Graceful.
Other indulgences include a self-levelling pool table, five-metre aquarium and the biggest TV on a yacht, stretching 4.5m across an entire wall, which cost a million euros to install.
The ship’s highly sophisticated security system with four radars is said to be capable of shooting down drones.
But the best part is what is on the holder:
You buy your products from people who produce that product. My guess is that no one produces the type of product in Russia that the oligarchs want to buy. In the West lots of yachts are sold. Probably not that many in Russia. Similarly rich Saudis don’t buy their luxury aircraft from anyone in Saudi Arabia. Nobody there builds them.

Biden and Yellen pushed to give Russia $17 billion while troops gathered on Ukraine’s border.
As Mr. Putin prepared to invade a sovereign democracy, the Biden administration continued pushing for more than $17 billion in International Monetary Fund allocations for Moscow.
To further put that $17 billion in perspective, Mr. Biden asked Congress for only $10 billion in Ukraine aid after Russia’s violent invasion began leading every newscast.
...In this case, there were no sanctions to evade because the Biden administration simply handed Vladimir Putin, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Xi Jinping the money.
Treasury can’t claim it had no other options. The IMF could have avoided spending the bulk of the $650 billion general allocation on dictators and countries that didn’t need the aid by making the special allocation for the poorest nations. Again, these pages pointed out that Mr. Biden’s objection to a tailored approach was that it would require him to submit to Congress—which he seems generally reluctant to do.
—”That is not Putin’s yacht,”
Can you show some proof?
—”a self leveling pool table sound pretty cool on a yacht!”
Interesting, yes.
Yet, with the deck moving and the tabletop not, it may affect your shot?
Still cool!
It’s what marxists do. Al Gore. John Kerry. Barry Soetero. They need their luxuries.
Vladimir Putin’s just last week bitched about Russian’s becoming to Americanized and he’s doing what.
—”What about Xi? You think he drives around in a 17 foot Carolina Skiff?”
Clearly, it would be a China skiff.
That said, IMO Xi is smart enough not to go for bling, he has it ALL!
When he had Trump over for dinner at the Forbidden City, a great display of the greatness of China.
No $14,000 Loro Piana jackets for Xi, and his wife often wears her official Chinese Army uniform.

More propaganda, as crude as it gets.
Putin and his oligarch good buddies are the biggest collection of corrupt scumbags on planet earth.
If ordinary folks sent money to terrorists, the gov would be al. Over them, but the gov sends billions and billions and billions of American’s hard earned money to overseas terrorists routinely.

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?”

Is that so?
Might be helpful if you presented a few facts to bolster your position.

Happens here, too.
Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was a client state of the Soviet Union; hence, he had lots of Soviet tanks and MIGs.
During the Iran-Iraq War, the U.S. gave both countries intelligence so neither could win, and so both would agree to a cease fire. We definitely didn’t want Iran to win, but we didn’t want Iraq to win either. We wanted, and we got a stalemate.
Much of what has been called “aid” to Iraq was the sale of agricultural goods and dual use technologies. No, I don’t think we should have sold stuff to Saddam, especially since these sales were financed by the Export-Import Bank. On the Corruption scale, if we use Putin as 100, the Export-Import Bank rates maybe 25. These guys try to measure corruption as objectively as possible:

As for bringing up Saddam Hussein to deflect attention from Putin: this is a strategy the left employs all the time, and perhaps some on the right. You’re imperfect in some way, so you can’t criticize Putin.
Agreed.
If every allegation is false it is propaganda, and if every allegation or some of them are true, it is still propaganda.

No one needs facts. Common sense will do.
This is why our side is losing. Too many dupes.

That bit of sophistry might pass over on DU, not so much around here.
Try a different and fact-based approach.
You make Mother Russia look bad with that pants load.
