“This is not good news and I did not expect this. I'm devastated and sad because it comes after a great start to the season,” Rafael Nadal shared on social media Tuesday
Rafael Nadal will be sidelined with a rib fracture for six weeks as the French Open quickly approaches.
The tennis player, 35, revealed the injury on Twitter on Tuesday in a series of messages written in Spanish and loosely translated.
"Hello everyone, I wanted to announce that I have returned to Spain," he wrote. "And I immediately went to visit my medical team to do the tests after the Indian Wells final that I played with discomfort."

I think it is he who,is pretty prone to injuries. Wonder if he has weak bones or something
QUITE POSSIBLE.................
Nadal plays at a physical level beyond anyone else in the sport.. To generate the spin and torque he puts on the ball requires amazing strength not to mention his foot speed. At the early stages of his pro career, many top coaches said Nadal will have a very short career because a human body can not withstand the demands he puts on his body.
He will soon be 36 years old, this year alone, he had 20 straight match wins and won the Australian open in January, giving him twenty-one grand slam wins, the most in history.
Well...thanks for the follow up post. Nice to know why he had trouble and not speculate on the other possible causes.
“rib fracture”
So Fritz wouldn’t have beaten a healthy Nadal? Or a healthy Jokavich?
The kid still worked through his own pain and did himself proud.
Do you think this business about him having a rib fracture is true, or do you think it’s a temporary or placeholder narrative to draw attention away from something else (that being a vexxine-related or vexxine-caused injury/illness)?
