The sign reads: “I apologize for closing again. My two new cashiers quit because I said their boyfriends couldn’t stand here for their entire shift. Don’t hire Gen Z. They don’t know what work actually means. Now Hiring Baby Boomers only!”
This is a good example of why we’re in deep trouble in so many ways.
I don’t want to bash kids, maybe not all of them are screwed up but my experience has been 0 for 3 attempts to hire, train and teach.
The last one was apparently a compulsive liar. It didn’t matter how small the thing he would lie. That was the worst of it. He also could not do anything beyond running a weed eater without close supervision and even that required orientation each time he returned to work.
If my experience is any indication we are in very very very deep crap.
Maybe he can code…
It is funny, but again, it is the parents fault. Parents let them get what they want instead of working for it. My kids are hard working and so are their friends...
Hilarious
He’s right their boyfriends don’t even have a job.
They won’t stay off their phones .
and make video games or gimmick apps that are more trouble than they are worth if you have a brain and can think for yourself at all.
Yeah, that will do it. He can make billions!
Gen-X is forgotten again.
And that’s okay.
I’m a single parent (widower) with three kids, two that live with me and my 78 year old dad. One has autism, but will do what I ask, just doesn’t have initiative.
I modeled the “get up and do it yourself” behavior, but my wife did not. She was lazy, pure and simple. They modeled after her, more so than I, but the last 2 1/2 years I’m breaking them of it, slowly.
I also work 50-60 hours a week, and TRY to have a life outside of the house - although I usually don’t leave the 8 acres more than once a week - if that.
Most folks *I* know are doing the best we can, but times (and kids) are different now than when I was their age in the 80’s.
