I was the first to write about Russia’s infamous high-tech military strategy. One small problem: it doesn't exist.
Everywhere, you’ll find scholars, pundits, and policymakers talking about the threat the “Gerasimov doctrine” — named after Russia’s chief of the general staff — poses to the West. It’s a new way of war, “an expanded theory of modern warfare,” or even “a vision of total warfare.”
There’s one small problem. It doesn’t exist. And the longer we pretend it does, the longer we misunderstand the — real, but different — challenge Russia poses.
I feel I can say that because, to my immense chagrin, I created this term, which has since acquired a destructive life of its own, lumbering clumsily into the world to spread fear and loathing in its wake. Back in February 2013, the Russian newspaper Military-Industrial Courier — as exciting and widely read as it sounds — reprinted a speech by Gen. Valery Gerasimov...
...But then came the annexation of Crimea, when “little green men” — commandos without insignia — seized the peninsula with scarcely a shot fired. This was followed by the Donbass war, fought initially by a motley collection of local thugs, separatists, Russian adventurers, and special forces, accompanied by a barrage of lurid Russian propaganda.
Suddenly, it seemed that Gerasimov had indeed been describing what was to come, had we but realized it. Prone, as ever, to overcompensation, Western mainstream opinion swung from ignoring Gerasimov’s pronouncements to enshrining them as some kind of bleeding-edge blueprint for a new way of war

After hearing that Gen. Valery Gerasimov was wounded in the last two days in Ukraine, I found this. It is a critique of the Western European perception of Russia's high tech military doctrines and goals, which as has been shown while fighting in Ukraine are far behind NATO. How Russia wages wafare has clear limits, and they were never entirely blind to this. Past actions in Crimea and Donbass showed how Russia would fight if they invaded Ukraine. How Russia is prosecuting this war is not entirely unexpected.
Fortunately for Ukraine, they paid attention and spent the last ten years preparing for how Russia would actually invade their country.
Foreign Policy Magazine is like Der Stürmer for globalists and neocons.
The “Tsunami Bomb” may not exist either.
Something about that just seems (pardon the pun) fishy.
-50 rubble as you forgot to mention nazis.

***Uhhh, Russia invaded their country less than 10 years ago, 8 years ago. I think Ukrain spent their time preparing for what they knew was coming: betrayal.
Once that threshold was met, they have been getting the support they need... maybe.
And it's a good thing they have "retired" Canadian lieutenant generals and other NATO officers commanding their troops...
Do the Russian barbarians have any pretend generals left? It’s Tuesday…about time for another to be maimed.
I can’t wait.
#7.Is it really necessary to explain how much is wrong with that story of another story from Russian sources?
Is it really necessary to explain that the linked article is in the Canada Free Press, many of whose articles have graced the FR boards in the past?
If the editor isn't a freeper, she probably lurks here, and I think she may have been associated with Free Dominion in past days.
