Deer Stomps The Life Out Of A Hawk To Rescue A Rabbit From Its Clutches

Some times this stuff just doesn’t make any sense at all.

I mean, a deer helping a rabbit get away from a hawk sounds like the plot of a Disney movie, really.

But, what doesn’t necessarily make sense usually makes for something cool. I mean, if it’s not common, it is more intriguing.

For this rabbit in Wisconsin, that was the case.

“Kris Miller was trimming trees around Nordic Mountain country park, Wisconsin, USA, earlier this month when he spotted a red tailed hawk dead on the ground.

After checking CCTV from June 11, the 29-year-old operations manager was ‘astonished’ when he saw the bird of prey swoop down on an unsuspecting rabbit below.”

A hawk is seen coming down out of a tree and hitting the ground pretty hard. This is how hawks hunt. This type of area, open grass next to woods is their bread and butter, as it holds lots of opportunity for prey to come out into the open while hawks spot them secretly from above.

As the hawk is wrestling whatever it has got ahold of a deer comes out of nowhere and just starts stomping the absolute shit out of the hawk.

A rabbit breaks free of the grip and makes for high ground with better cover. And the hawk? Well, it takes the worst beating of its life.

As the poor chap tries to fly away, the deer just doesn’t let it. Rather, it uses both sets of legs to stomp the actual life out of the bird.

A stone cold killer… the circle of life.

That rabbit cry might be mistaken for a fawn being attacked.

Agreed that the momma didn’t care about the rabbit and would remove, chase off any preditor it was equipped to handle.

I bet snakes are easy to mess up with those killer hooves with some weight and anger behind them.

Its only a Disney movie if the if the deer is homosexual (or at least questioning), the rabbit is a transgender immigrant, and the hawk is played with an authoritarian, Southern male accent.

Deer was eating the hawk. They’re not vegetarians you know.

It wasn’t about the rabbit, it was about food. The deer would’ve eaten the rabbit too if it could have caught it.

Rabbits have their place in the ecosystem of nature.

A conservation officer teaching a class of scouts once called rabbits "Nature's Hamburger Helper."

Yes, and obviously the hawk poses no threat to the deer, but the hawk very well might pose a serious threat to the deer’s babies!

If only that deer was around when Jimmy Carter attacked that rabbit.

“did the
deer eat what it killed?”

So a herbivore can’t defend itself from a predator since it won’t “eat what it killed”?

Calling an animal a “murderer” is just silly either way too. Only humans can commit murder, because only humans understand good and evil, so only humans can have malicious intent.

That all depends. Which of these, the deer, the hawk or the rabbit is LBGQT+XYZ?

If it's a Disney movie, at least one character has to be queer.

We were at a picnic table in the Sand Dunes National Monument when one of those little deer came up to the table. It flicked a deer fly off of the overhanging edge of our table cloth with its nose. The fly landed on the ground and the deer stomped on it. Couldn’t tell if it successfully dispatched the fly.
