George Washington University’s sports teams will no longer be known as the Colonials.
The school said in an announcement Wednesday the school’s board of trustees and a special committee determined the name Colonials "can no longer serve its purpose as a name that unifies."

George Washington was a surveyor, military General/leader and our first President. He played a strong role in getting our Constitution developed and ratified.
By any definition George Washington he was a successful and great man. Anyone that says otherwise must be a loser.

The colonials (the colonists, aka the oppressed) took up arms vs the oppressive overseas imperialists and kicked their asses out of here. Should be right up their woke alley, if they only had a brain. They need to be off to see the wizard.
I remember a few years ago that students from India were offended by “colonials.” Colonial means something different in the United States than in India.
