Jussie Smollett starved himself in prison.
The 40-year-old actor - who was convicted of lying about being a victim of a racist and homophobic attack back in 2019 and initially sentenced to 150 days in jail in 2021 but was freed after just six days behind bars - admitted that during his brief time behind bars he "fasted" for almost a week in order to achieve a "clear mind."
He said: "I was there for six and a half days. I fasted for six and a half days. I was fasting because that's what we do in my family. Like we fast for clarity... I have never in my life, at least in my adult life, been as clear of mind as I was for those six and a half days... I was fasting until I found out whether or not I was gonna be in there for those five and a half months. I just wanted to know what my life was about to look like.!
The 'Empire' star - who was found to have paid two men to attack him before being found guilty of five counts of felony disorderly conduct - went on to protest his innocence and claimed that the prison system is "not meant" for self-improvement.
Speaking on SiriusXM's 'Sway in the Morning' show, he added: "As I'm sitting there, I'm like, 'I know that I didn’t do this', but you’d have to be a different kind of person to really search and try to find the redemption in this. That place is not meant for redemption. That place is not meant to make you come out better than when you were in.
"There's something about being in there and having no choice but to surrender -- not to the system, not to a judge or a bunch of old white men, ironically explaining to you about the history of hate crimes and lynching. And you're sitting there and being like, ‘What? Who the f*** are you?’ But you're surrendering to yourself and you're surrendering to - you're just left there with you, your thoughts, and these walls."
Instead of jail he has been sentenced to continue being an idiot.
Fasting is not starving oneself. It’s a purposeful denial of sustenance, usually for meditation or for dieting. Starving has more of a negative connotation, as being involuntary because of someone, including yourself as in a protest, withholding food from you or because of a lack of available food.
I’ve fasted for 96 hours quite a few times. It’s a great carb cleanse. Believe me, it’s a long way from starving.
Must have been terrible for Jussie, to be left alone with his own thoughts. I can’t even imagine the horror.
What a freakin’ joke this clown is. Starved himself in jail for only 6 days?
I thought he was guilty and all he served was 6 days with no Subway?
Did his anus fast also ?
I bet his stay was not so much punishment as much as a fantasy butt sex staycation.
.
And this is supposed to be bad news?!
If you are starving, you don’t have a choice. If you are fasting, you have a choice, and you choose not to.
I am NOT suicidal
Just so clear

I am so sorry, I’m sure that he will be missed by some. RIP, Juicy.
Smollett? He is not worth the effort of a witty response.
In the Coldest part of town,
If you go down there, you better just beware;
Of a man called ?Jussie Smollet?
With apologies to LeRoy Brown.
Did he surrender on his hands and knees?
Or just his knees?
Even Cornpop don’t mess wit’ Jussie...
Dr.Oz saying to skip breakfast....
I once had a Science Digest issue with an article that top epxerts found coffee shortens your life and is something to avoid.
I happened to have saved the issue when around 20 years the same mag had a new finding: coffee is really good for you and lengthens life. Several new studies backed it up.
Mag is no longer published since 1986 and I wonder how many other “expert” findings will be upended.
