Former U.S. Senator Al Franken took to Twitter to criticize conservative justices on the U.S. Supreme Court following a majority decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In a series of tweets, the embattled former Senator-turned-podcast host included a specific criticism of Justice Clarence Thomas, who opined the overturning of the abortion precedent should push his court to review other major cases as well.
"After overturning Roe, Thomas wants to revisit Griswold, Lawrence, & Obergefell. How about revisiting Thomas’ conflicts of interest instead of our rights?" Franken said in a tweet on Saturday.
The tweet was in reference to Thomas saying on the 119th page of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health opinion that the court "should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell.
"Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous’ … we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents," Thomas added.

As for Mssr. Franken .... my memory of him is in blue workman’s clothing arguing about ‘my turn’, in the movie ‘Trading Places’.
So, will Franken challenge Thomas to a fight in his workplace’s garage?

Those three cases, starting with Griswold, all employed the inferred “right to privacy” that was just thrown out here.
Contraception, Sodomy and same sex unions became rights in the public mind for many based on those rulings.
Even Justice Willaim O. Douglas who wrote the decision knew it was NOT in the Constitution, but was inferred from the shadows and spirit of four different aspects of the bill of rights.
RBG even knew better.
A core principle missed in all this is that our government AND its Constitution cannot grant or rescind rights. God, “Our Creator” is the only Grantor. The government is only empowered via legislation and regulation to set permissions and teems.
The USSC cannot create a Right, and neither can Congress.
Al Franken is simply playing the part he had on Saturday Night Live!

Anybody else besides me get the idea that Justice Thomas made those comments just to wickedly provoke (trigger) the morons? That play is so DJT, eh?

If it’s true, fine. But how wonderful he must feel with Bidet as president, remembering the torment he went through for confirmation by that clown committee run by Bidet. Thomas must be relishing the calamity this guy is experiencing after the treatment he received.
Somebody needs to tell this old jackass that he is now a relic from days gone by. Nobody GAS what he has to say.
