It’s certainly a great movie, but the greatest ever? Nope. Plan 9 From Outer space is the Greatest SciFi movie ever. No other movie has gotten such mileage per dollar.

Okay The Day The Earth Stood Still and Forbidden Planet are what I consider classic scifi. Even the original version of The Thing was great

Wrong genre. Plan 9 was intended to be a sci-fi horror, but turned out to be a comedy.
However, R.O.T.O.R. can give it a run for the money in both categories.

It's certainly a great movie, but the greatest ever? Nope. Plan 9 From Outer space is the Greatest SciFi movie ever. No other movie has gotten such mileage per dollar. As no other movie has ever done, it touched me with the deep and profound realization that I had just wasted 72 minutes of my life that I would never get back. (Of course I own the DVD.)
