In October 2020, The Bee posted a story on Facebook with a link to a story about the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court titled “Senator Hirono Demands ACB be Weighed Against a Duck to See If She Is a Witch.” This is a reference to a bizarre Medieval-style test to determine if someone is a witch from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
In response, Facebook removed the post and demonetized The Bee’s page, citing their policies against incitement to violence.
Sophistry sounds pretty good until you analyze it. The Bee makes a lot of people say “Wait a minute....” It also fools a lot of people because some of its headlines are plausible, these days.

Those of us in this arena for some time have made the observation that Leftists are immune to logic, reason, charity, argument, rejection, criticism, or even varying levels of conciliation. (To the Left, conciliation is almost always capitulation to their view)
They are often impervious to all those things.
But the one thing they cannot countenance is: Ridicule.
They love it when they are hated. Criticism seems to only fuel them. They lustfully engage in argument as long as it is largely composed of vitriol combined with their point of view. They accept charity wholeheartedly with utter condescension and zero gratitude. Rejection is the currency of the realm for them. They thrive on watching their opponents get red in the face as they futilely try to engage logic and reason.
But oh, Boy.
You make fun of them, genuine ridicule that is spot on target the way the Babylon Bee does....well, they cannot abide that in any way, shape, or form.
They are already barking dog mad lunatics, moonbats, at their core, but when you make fun of them with quality, intelligent, ridicule that is over the target, they rapidly begin inwardly (if not outwardly) to become unwound, faces reddening, lips flecked with spittle, eyes blinking, breathing quickening, mouths opening and closing like a landed fish.
Sometimes, in this initial stage, they may display a blank face outwardly, but inside, that is exactly what is transpiring. I guess that it just takes longer in some of them to express itself physically, while others begin to transform before you have even reached the end of the sentence.
And the author is correct in another key point: This is quite different to the way Conservatives react when ridiculed. Perhaps it is because we are so accustomed to it and recognize it so readily.
It confounds them when we openly possess their ridicule, own it, and proudly expand on it with a form of humorous self-deprecation they have no way of understanding.
Because Leftists are emotionally a mile wide and intellectually a nanometer thick, when it is thrown right back at them and scratches the surface, it only displays the spittle-lipped, red-faced bug-eyed Leftist in all of them opening and closing their mouths in speechless rage.
It goes even deeper, and it involves the concept of introspection. Most Conservatives are well acquainted with the concept of self-reflection and analyzing and re-analyzing our own views. We are told again and again how wrong we are about everything, that nearly anyone who is a Conservative has not at some point had to genuinely ask themselves “Am I wrong about this?” Granted, you reach a point where you don’t re-inspect your own views and values every time they come under fire, but most of us have done it at least once or many times on nearly every key value we hold dear.
Leftists? Not so much.
When you are indoctrinated as Leftists are, you don’t have to engage in introspection. What you are told by the media, entertainment, education, and Leftist politicians is the simple truth. To survey that for flaws is, to Leftists, heresy, and you risk becoming a heretic, an unbeliever...an Apostate.
And to those in an indoctrinated religious order such as Leftism, there is no crime worse than apostasy.
I think that is the root of why Leftists react as they do when they are ridiculed. They cannot engage in an introspective fact. And in the face of things that demand examination, being unable to do so contributes to an already massive reservoir of highly explosive, and sometimes lethal cognitive dissonance.
It is why I view most Leftists as fundamentally flawed. I see them as emotional ticking time bombs, just waiting for an emotional trigger to act out.
And given the preponderance of Leftists engaging in violence, shootings, property damage, looting, and racially motivated attacks, I don’t think I am wrong on this.
Seriously (?) though, if a person has allowed themselves to indulge in hatred and negativity to the point of humorlessness they have extinguished one of God's gifts that raises us from bestial savagery. They have my pity but I can't waste compassion on the purposeful self-mutilation of their souls.
