I'd imagine there are a lot of long-time, regular FReepers who simply pass away and nobody in their surviving family thought to notify the forum.
I've been posting here for 21 years and I know with absolute certainty that if I died tomorrow, my wife wouldn't even think about posting a thread on here (or any of the other forums I frequent) to announce it. After a while (or not), someone might post a "Where's Drew68?" thread and nobody would have any idea.
Not saying that's what happened to Onyx but we are a demographically old group here and our numbers are dwindling. Some of us will make it to the Memorial Wall but most of us will simply stop posting without any further explanation.

Sadly, I think the fact that FR isn't user-friendly for mobile devices and the need to know a smidgen of HTML to post here pretty much drives away any potential new member under 50.
This place had a good run. The kids today are going elsewhere.
