He was astronaut Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13, detective Mac Taylor in CSI: NY and Vietnam War veteran Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump.

But the role he's most proud of is that of a real-life philanthropist. Sinise has been helping wounded veterans and first responders for decades and created the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011.

"I've met some inspirational people that have motivated me," Sinise said. "And if I can give back to them by helping them with their efforts, then that's a way that I can continue to serve."

There are still a few celebrities who are patriots, and Gary Sinise is definitely one of them. He will be in Knoxville as master of ceremonies for the upcoming Medal of Honor Celebration.

Gary doesn't have a Presidential Medal of Freedom. But Harvey Milk, Megan Rapinoe, and Ellen Degeneres do.

That's messed up.

I admire him much.

During the Afghan war, I was Red Cross volunteer on the amputation ward at Walter Reed. (Met Petraeus. He reeeeally cared about his men.)

Later I volunteered there through a church group, until Covid close us down.

Our military people deserve respect and then some.

Bless you for your volunteer work there. My stepson spent almost 2 years at Walter Reed 2004-2006.

9/11 should have been the wake up call we needed. Instead, the 2 towers were signal flares announcing to those looking to destroy America that we had fallen, and would not be able to get up again.

Jorge duh-bya Arbusto blew it. He will burn in hell (I hope) for his complete failure to lock down the borders, expel the foreign agents, crush the domestic enemies, and destroy the left in this country once and for all. Instead, he let them get stronger than ever, and in hindsight, we will realize that we never recovered from that.
