This is the first I heard of this. In earlier days, somebody with 54 homers in early September would be front page news. I guess this is an indication of how professional sports has fallen out of favor, particularly with our younger people. When I was growing up, even male adults would typically turn to the sports section before anything else in the newspaper.

Anyway, with nearly a month of games left in the season, Mike Judge has a decent shot at 60.

‘Anyway, with nearly a month of games left in the season’

as noted above, Judge has 16 games left to hit the remaining 6 homers, in order to tie Ruth...

It's the world we live in now, you are talking of a world where their no video games, 1000 channels, and no internet.

I don’t think it’s how professional sports has fallen out of favor. It’s how baseball has fallen out of favor. Even the major sports talk shows rarely talk baseball anymore.

Baseball hasn't recovered from the strike in 1994. The numbers keep dropping, the steroid scandal didn't save them, and going woke was just an attempt to get a bounce out of a dead cat.

The owners showed their anti-American beliefs by supporting wokeness and Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM. The should be charged for illegal campaign contributions-in-kind for running free, multi-hour commercials for the Democrats.

Baseball teams lose more and more frequently to one opponent they can't beat - Viewer Apathy.

Forget about some stick swinger beating a record; people wouldn't care if he was found dead in a hotel room with cocaine and hookers or decided to "transition" into a cat or a tree.

There are more important things to focus on than entertainment. Also consider we have so many more entertainment options today vying for a limited amount of personal time.
