Beto stuck at 42. Things are looking grim for the Irish Chicano.

the GOP was ready for Beto this time. Governor Abbott hit him hard at every opportunity, from gun control to defunding the police to school choice. Senator Ted Cruz waited too long to get in the race back in 2018. Like a well-coached hitter, the governor knew what O'Rourke was throwing from day on.

I was once worried about him. Same playbook. Young, pretty boy and gift of gab legislator who's free to to be the pied piper of frustrated housewives. Worked with Clinton, Obama, JFK, and would have worked with RFK. Didn't work with John Edwards or the too distant Gary Hartpence. His mistake was going up against Cruz. Now he doubles down going against a sitting Governor. Not too smart. Did we nip him in the bud?

Is he over his mystery infection yet? I don’t know what he had, but I suspect it rhymes with Junkey Box.

Beto is a black hole for the dnc who just eats up millions of dollars just to lose. I don’t get why they keep on pushing him.

I too was once worried about him - especially after his run against Ted Cruz.

He should have lost by a considerable margin - but didn’t, he almost beat Cruz.

Ted Cruz: 50.9%
Beto O’Rourke 48.3

Hopefully, this will end his political career once and for all - but I have the feeling we’re going to see this gun-grabber again and again.

JFK and Barak were legislators from the upper chamber where their oratory could be echoed. They were never executives whose records could be scrutinized, specifically the parts that came up short. Criticism would have to be tempered. Clinton ran a red state and had it easy since his political skills were excellent. Add the fact that things were really not-that-bad after 8 years of Eisenhower and 4 of Bush 41. Missle gap, get the country moving again, worst economy in the last 50 years. You get it. Boredom just may have set in with the electorate when this exciting ‘newcomer’ came along. Think of the bored housewife.

They are in love with his biography. The Dem party has become a secular religious organization, with all the apparatus and symbolism of organized religion. Beto is their savior by virtue of his pedigree. Policies don’t matter. They all will do the same thing.

Because the DNC stupidly believes that any poser who tags himself with the Mexican “Beto” moniker MUST be Mexican and therefore will automatically get the Hispanic vote.

He’s a poser. Look up his traffic troubles past. Only got away from being charged from fleeing the scene of an accident and/or possible alcohol/drug testing because of family influence and money. Now he’s married to some rich woman, IIRC, so he’s the perfect simplistic Democrat Politician for idiots I guess.

I mean, what kind of guy posts his dental visit videos, or even worse, videos of his old white ass out stupidly skateboarding in a Whattaburger parking lot and thinking that’s a ‘hep’ thing to do. The guy is a freaking joke. He’s just another version of the Fetterman guy without the stroke.

Actually Chicano and Irish are not mutually exclusive. There were Irish immigrants who ended up in Mexico.

O’Rourke‘s problem is that he’s aiming too high. He should start a club for Irish people who shamelessly like to pretend that they’re Latino. Then he should run for president of that club.

O’Rourke would be the odds-on favorite to win that one. Mainly because he’d be the only member.

42 is enough a worry, the guy should be at 2.

They are in love with his biography.

Who is?
Not enough people in Texas apparently. He is the habitual loser, in addition to being a gigolo who married a woman for her money and hasn't really done much of any real job in his life.

*He should have lost by a considerable margin - but didn’t, he almost beat Cruz.*

It just shows what we’re up against. What if he waited and took on Cornyn? Cornyn looked old and tired-the perfect storm awaited. We can’t count on their tactical mistakes. DeSantis came close to losing and he’s now safe. Perhaps the GOP should concentrate more on doing their job.

It remains astonishing to me that there are that many Texans who would vote for someone like “Beto”!
