The ATACMS missile pod is made to look just like the GLMRS pod (that we have already sent to Ukraine). Russia has already said that it is a “trip wire” if we send over the longer range ATACMS system.

There are better communications than in World Wars I and II.
It is hard to see what any combatant would gain from pushing the conflict outside of Ukraine/Russia.
Both Ukraine and Russia have been careful, so far, to refrain from pushing the conflict outside Ukraine and the border of Russia with Ukraine.
China sees an example of how attempting to regain territory, long independent, can spiral into severe, unwanted, consequences.
It is the opposite of how Hitler did not get any push-back after gobbling up several states.
In this case, the push-back from Ukraine was surprising, and surprisingly effective.

Considering their Taiwan policy, I think the goal now for the Neocons is to have WW3 now, and hope for the best, as delaying it will only make victory harder.
Of course the other option of the United States simply becoming another major player in the world (rather than running the world) is not in any of the Neocon playbooks...or we wouldn’t be in this mess.
The US is not sending ATACMS to Ukraine.
Not giving ATCMS to Ukraine means it could escalate the conflict to World War III.
That means by giving Ukraine ATACMS would de-escalate the war in Ukraine and and prevent World War III.
