Has Anyone Followed the Inspector Morse Series? Inspector Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour? Thoughts?

I have been overwhelmed with the series. to the point that I have purchased the DVDS. I have never felt television to fit. this fits.

your take?

I’ve enjoyed a number of British cop series, including those two. I don’t know why, but I generally like them much better than the American cop shows.

Was a big Inspector Morse fan when John Thaw was playing the role.

Morse is great. Lewis is not too bad, especially seeing Laurance Fox. I have not watched Endeavor.

Might want to check out Father Brown, Midsomer Murders, Inspector Frost, and for medieval whodoits Cadfile.

thanks for pointing to this. I like detective stories, and the whole series appears to be on YouTube.

I absolutely love Morse, its sequel and prequel. I’ve even done the Morse tour in Oxford. That adds a whole lot to your appreciation for the series. Can’t wait for the final season of Endeavour.

I’m particularly fond of Laurence Fox (Hathaway) who has become a major conservative figure in the UK, despite the consequences for his acting career

Loved Inspector Morse and Endeavour but I didn’t care for Lewis as much. However, I did like Sergeant Hathaway in the Lewis Series...and even more so now that I know is political views!

We watched Endeavor on Amazon. Really enjoyed it. Haven’t watched Morse as it’s an extra charge. Watched one episode of Lewis and may give it another shot. We currently watch Midsommer Murders. Trying to make it through all 21 seasons.

Yes. They are excellent. Also Foyle’s War and DCI Banks are worthy binge watching.

I saw a couple episodes of Lewis. I liked it. The Brits do TV series soooo much better than we do.

Most Brit mysteries are plot heavy without the soap opera between characters overwhelming the mystery. They also cast actors who look like real people, not like models off of a runway. I have Britbox and watch a lot of them. They are generally much better than US shows.

In recent years they have all started adding homo characters. But have seemed to keep the personal drama in the background for the most part.
