THE King has told actor Luke Evans how his bloodline shows he is related to Vlad Dracula.
The Hobbit star had just finished the 2014 film Dracula Untold when he first met His Majesty, who was then Prince of Wales.

The actor, 43, played a fictional version of the 15th century Romanian ruler Vlad III, also known and Vlad the Impaler, Vlad Tepes and Vlad Dracula.
In the movie, Vlad turns into a vampire.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, Luke said: “I remember the first time I spoke to Charles. I was super nervous.
“He came up to me and said, ‘What are you working on?’ and I said, ‘I’ve just finished a movie about Vlad, who turns into Dracula.’ And he went ‘Funnily enough, I’m related to Vlad Tepes.’
“I thought he was joking, but went through his lineage to Vlad.”
Bloodthirsty Vlad III ruled the former territory of Wallachia and killed thousands — mainly through impalement.
Author Bram Stoker used Dracula for the title of his 19th Century novel. Christopher Lee played the character in films.
King Charles is a great grandson 16 times removed of Vlad III.
He can trace his lineage through his great grandmother Queen Mary, wife of George V, to Vlad IV, the half-brother of the infamous ruler.

England and its culture seem to have this love affair with the Islamic world making, Vlad Tepes, the bad guy starting with Bram Stoker’s, Dracula, but I do love that story. I read rumors that Queen Elizabeth who recently died is a descendent of Mohammed for years now. Not sure how true that is, but in 75 years most of the U.K will be a muslim country.

"great grandson 16 times removed" -- There's no such thing as gg any times removed. Either you're a descendant, or you're not. They're cousins. Hell, from the look of it, I'm cousins with both of them, probably ten percent (or more) of people reading this are as well.

Actually, the Vlad Tepes relationship comes through Charles' great-grandmother Queen Mary, whose own grandmother (
link) was a Hungarian countess.
The Battenbergs weren't particularly eastern European.
