I cannot believe what Clay Travis said today on the EIB station. "TRUMP SHOULD AGREE TO SUPPORT THE TICKET IF HE LOSES THE PRIMARY"
November 16, 2022 | self

Clay Travis said today he thought Trump should agree to support the nominee, if he(Trump) did not win the nomination.

I think that is an incredibly naive position. Does anyone think the RNC is trustworthy? Would anyone trust Mitch McConnell to be honest and fair? The only way Trump will have any leverage at all is to not to promise to support the ticket if he is not treated fairly. The GOPe Republican Establishment might joins forces with the Democrats to eliminate Trump, or clandestinely work against Trump in the primary. Why do they call it the Uniparty?

Is Clay Travis the voice of the Establishment, or is he naive? Is Clay being disengenious?

I tried for 30 minutes to call in to the show, but they would not answer my call.

His radio partner is CIA. That’s all you need to know. Why anyone listens to it is beyond me.

One thing is certain: if the GOP is not united behind their candidate, they will lose in 2024. Anyone not willing to join the team will not get my support.

What would be the correct course of action for Trump to take?

This is Deja Vu.

That’s one of the most memorable moments of 2016, when every wimpy Republican raised their hand to that totally loaded cheesy question, will you support the nominee...

Trump...I will support the nominee, if I am the nominee!!!!

Ahahaha - Genius

I think it cuts both ways. Trump making that pledge makes him look more like a team player and less just out for himself. To the extent some criticize him for that, it could help. On the flip side, it may lead people who are leaning his way because they don't want a fight to vote for someone else because they know he'll support the nominee.

And this is obviously being realistic about the nominee -- DeSantis, Pompeo, Youngkin, Haley. Not Liz Cheney or Mitt Romney.

Agreed.

In the primary, we vote *for* who we want as president.

In the general election, we vote *against* the person we don’t want as president.

Trump should explicitly NOT support the ticket. He should run third party. If the Repukes win or if the Rats win it makes no difference.

Travis is tight but to Trump it’s about him and him only.

Plus he’s going to lose in the Primaries

trump will give them the amount of support he received from them when he was president... zilch. and i would not blame him.

Trump needs to be the nominee and needs to win and needs to clean out the corruption...

The Bushville GOPe that came against Trump after he became the nominee, have the audacity to now demand Trump support a nominee if it's not him.

How about someone ask the GOPe if they'll support Trump if he's the nominee? They're the ones with the track record of dissing the nominee!
