I do believe the security at Mall of America has seen the light. I called MOA Security and asked if I could wear a Jesus Saves shirt to the mall or if it’s still prohibited attire?

“Yes sire you can, it’s fine.”

Check for yourself: Mall Security can be reached at 952.883.8888.

I truly hope this guy sues them.

You're not reading the article or watching the video.

He was removed from the mall for “preaching the gospel” on another occasion, he said in the video. He may have deserved it. This incident is different.

Mall cop said, “Jesus is associated with religion and it’s offending people,” one of the guards tells the man in the video from the Jan. 7 incident. ...

The man tries to reason with the guards, telling them that he didn’t speak or say anything to anyone — in terms of preaching . ...

The story says mall policy forbids “picketing, demonstrating, soliciting, protesting or petitioning” on the premises. The security guard said the man’s religious tee still counted as soliciting even if he was not actively preaching. “Again, sir, it is religious soliciting,” he told him in the video.

“I’m giving you a couple options,” the guard told the man, who was wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath the T-shirt. “You can take your shirt off and you can go to Macy’s and you can do your shopping — or you could leave the mall. Those are your ONLY options right now.” In other words, the T-shirt was the ONLY problem, not aggressive preaching.

People falling for that spin are no different than the folks who fell for the HS Students in DC “harassing” the indian activist a few years back.

Yes, but you're forgetting that the video of that incident was purposely edited by the news media to make it look like the Covington HS kid was harassing the Indian activist. When people saw the full video, they realized the reverse was true. It was so blatant that I think even the news people (See Tagline.) apologized. Also, the Covington kid successfully sued one or more media outlets for millions of dollars.

No I saw and read the article.

You are missing context. This guy is a known player, who has been removed for proselytizing before, and that is what put him on their radar, not his shirt.

This wasn’t John Q Public walking in, this is someone who has been removed before for breaking rules and already on their radar.

This is the mall of America, you really think with the tens of thousands of visitors they get each day they are just walking around looking for folks wearing Jesus Saves T-shirts and other Christian themed clothing to harass?

This is a guy who’s been kicked out, and I am willing to bet or more than one occasion for breaking their rules.

That is why he was on their radar and why he got confronted, this wasn’t just some John Q Public walk in the door.

Folks falling for that narrative are absolutely no different than the folks who fell for those HS kids harassing that indian activist in DC a few years back.

This guy, has been booted for proselytizing before, he’s a known player, he showed up and they confronted him. DId they handle it right or legally? That’s another discussion, but the narrative that the Mall of America is just out there flagrantly looking for folks in Jesus Saves and Coexist T-Shirts to ban is just nonsense.

Had he not already been a known player, who’s gotten in trouble there before, this almost certainly wouldn’t have happened.

This isn’t some GENERAL DISCRIMINATION example.. that’s sensationalist BS.

Mall of America gets 40 Million visitors per year! Daily it gets more than 100,000 visitors on average, you think in all those visitors, there is a pattern of general anti-christian discrimination going on? And this sole individual, is the one who just happens to have evidence of it? You aren’t engaging your frontal lobe and simply knee jerking.

YOu think with 40,000,000 visitors a year, this is the first guy to wear a jesus saves t-shirt in that place? Be serious. This guy was on their radar because he’s been kicked out for proselytizing there, by his own admission and I am certain its been more than just once.

That’s why he got confronted, not simply because he had a shirt, he’s caused issues before, he’s broken the rules before, and he showed and they know who he is and what he’s done and that is what put him on the radar.

This isn’t hey, john 1 public walked in with a Jesus Saves t-shirt and got harassed.

Yes, the previous incident is why he was on their radar, but that doesn’t change the fact (according to the story and the part of the video that I saw) that he wasn’t aggressively preaching during this visit. Even the cop admits it.

If you’ve been pulled over for speeding in the past that doesn’t give the cops the right to give you another ticket for speeding unless you were speeding again. Recognizing your car is not enough.

Your property is not public. A mall is a public accommodation.

“...security knew this guy and his MO and on this day just decided to confront him “.
You are obsessed/fixated on “not just some random guy” That’s not the point, What did he do?
libertylover’s got your ‘context’ right here in post 64 case closed.

Your property is not public. A mall is a public accommodation.

It is still private property. You cannot protest on private property if asked to leave any more than you can say something a controlling party of that private property does not wish for you to say.

You can be removed from a public accommodation for any reason.
