Ukraine will be provided with another Patriot battery. Address of President 17.01.23
Office of the President of Ukraine

The annual forum in Davos, traditionally a powerful global political and economic platform, has started today. The world hears Ukraine in Davos - they know what Russia has done to Dnipro, they know what terrorists are doing to Kherson, Kharkiv, our Donbas and other territories Russia brought death to. It is very important that the First Lady of Ukraine presented all the elements of our Peace Formula in Davos today, including the fundamental clause on justice, which envisages full liability of Russian terrorists for everything they have done. And the world’s support for our diplomatic initiative is very much felt. We are doing everything to ensure that this support becomes truly global and that steps to end Russian aggression and return security are taken by all influential actors in international relations. Glory to all our heroes! Eternal memory to all those whose lives were taken by Russian aggression. Glory to Ukraine!

Entire Train With Hundreds Of Soldiers Revolt In Russia
17.01.2023, 8:08
https://charter97.org/en/news/2023/1/17/532482/

The four-car train has been stopped.
Around 200 soldiers in Russia rioted because of the cold in the train which was taking them to war in Ukraine.
The VChK-OGPU project, citing a source, reported that the incident took place on January 13. The four-car train was stopped at Ulusarka station in Lipetsk region.
“The soldiers almost got frostbites on their way to the “SMO” zone, as it was freezing, and the train was not heated in any way,” the report said.
As a result, the Russian servicemen refused to continue the journey and demanded four tonnes of coal as well as water to start the boiler in the train. Police officers were called to the scene to subdue the soldiers.
As Charter97.org reported earlier, mobilized from Russia’s Novosibirsk Region revolted in Ukraine.

Gerasimov Bans Drones In Russian Army And Orders To Urgently Shave Off Beards
17.01.2023, 16:11
https://charter97.org/en/news/2023/1/17/532512/

The new commander of the Russian occupation army in Ukraine, Valery Gerasimov, has already made scandalous decisions.

The Moscow Times writes, citing Russian propagandists, that the command has actually banned the use of modern technology (phones and tablets), making it impossible to use drones for artillery and reconnaissance.
Military correspondent “romanov_92” writes that a number of units have also been banned from using drones for war. They have been asked not to drop grenade shells from them.

The use of personal or donated four-wheel-drive vehicles is also banned. It’s required to hand them over to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The use of “non-statutory vehicles” is also banned. The use of personal vehicles is driven by the fact that the regular ones “are stuck, because there are neither repairmen, nor spare parts”.

In addition, the military were ordered to shave their beards off and wear uniforms as per the Statute. It is not known how it will affect Muslims who also serve in the occupation army of the Russian Federation.

Bridgehead ‘Stalls’: Russian Army Stalemates Near Soledar
17.01.2023, 19:10
https://charter97.org/en/news/2023/1/17/532530/

The grouping of up to 25,000 Russians has been reduced by more than a third.

The Russian army found itself in a stalemate after the prolonged storming of Bakhmut and Soledar, as it suffered heavy losses. This resulted in the loss of more than a third of the Russian Armed Forces concentrated there.
Alexander Kovalenko, the coordinator of the IS group and a military expert, writes about this.

He notes on his Facebook page that Russians had up to 32 BTGr concentrated near Bakhmut back in January, half of which were directly involved in the fighting, while the rest provided compensation for losses.

“But Prigozhin, in an attempt to demonstrate his usefulness, overplayed everything. As one can guess, he outplayed it badly, which is not surprising given his background. He took a third of the resource from near Bakhmut to Soledar and successfully lost it there. The 7th DSD and others had to plug the holes. Kirzachi began to hastily fill in the gaps in the rear,” the expert stressed.

As a result of Prigozhin’s decisions, the grouping of up to 25,000 Russians was reduced by more than a third, given the dead and wounded.

In addition to the Soledar “meat grinder,” the loss of the resource left near Bakhmut continued, which also affected the Russian army’s numbers here.

“The bridgehead has stalled. The command is not making any quick moves and is biding its time. The command needs to urgently compensate the losses. It will clearly no longer be convicts. But it takes time and resources. Everything rests precisely on them. And while the command faces stalemate, Prigozhin is handing out badges “The capture near Soledar”, Kovalenko stressed.

You would have better threads if you would just post an article and let some discussion develop.

You turn your threads into bulky, unreadable messes with a huge collection of new topics with long excerpts, large photos, religious themes and photos, you turn it into an unusable mess before any of us can get interested, or involved.

Vladimir Putin Plans To ‘Take As Many People As Possible With Him’ Before His Death, Insider Reveals
Haley Gunn
Jan. 17 2023, Published 6:00 p.m. ET
SOURCE: MEGA
https://radaronline.com/p/vladimir-putin-to-take-people-down-with-him-as-health-worsens/

A Kremlin insider made a haunting claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin was prepared to “take down as many people as possible with him” as his health rapidly deteriorates, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The remark, which read more like an ominous global warning, suggested that Putin, 70, was prepared to take drastic measures in the ongoing Russia/Ukraine conflict, even resorting to using nuclear weapons — as the Kremlin leader’s rumored failing health has left him with a demented and grim outlook on the remaining time he has left on Earth.

The startling possibility was brought forward by a source close to the Kremlin, who made the claim while speaking to the Telegram channel General SVR.

“According to the close circle of Putin, he has become withdrawn, laconic, practically does not receive anyone, and, in general, looks deeply concerned in recent days,” the Telegram broadcast reported per The Daily Star.

The Kremlin source doubled down on his allegation and suggested Putin’s medical treatment caused the invasion of Ukraine.

“The war exists in the head of one terminally ill man with a disturbed psyche who is trying to take as many people as possible with him to a mythical ‘paradise’,” the source said.

The insider claimed that Putin’s medication has caused profound effects on the Russian dictator’s “psycho-emotional state,” which could lead to catastrophic effects.

Additionally, the source alleged that Putin has suffered from “weakness, dizziness, and lack of appetite” due to his medication.

The claim has been backed up by fellow Kremlin insiders who alleged that Putin was being kept alive with Western cancer drugs.

As the Russian military continues to weaken on the front lines, Putin has used extreme violence against his own troops.

Read this interesting piece on another site. I have no idea as to its validity, but it is interesting nontheless:

“A few weeks ago the Russian military started a systematic counter artillery campaign which has since made great progress. The typical western way of detecting enemy artillery units is by radar. The flight path of the projectile is measured and the coordinates of its source are calculated enabling ones own artillery to respond. But counter-artillery radar itself depends on radiating. It is thereby easily detectable and vulnerable to fire. Over the last months Russia deployed a very different counter-artillery detection systems with the rather ironic name of Penicillin:

Penicillin or 1B75 Penicillin is an acoustic-thermal artillery-reconnaissance system developed by Ruselectronics for the Russian Armed Forces. The system aims to detect and locate enemy artillery, mortars, MLRs, anti-aircraft or tactical-missile firing positions with seismic and acoustic sensors, without emitting any radio waves. It locates enemy fire within 5 seconds at a range of 25 km (16 mi; 13 nmi). Penicillin completed state trials in December 2018 and entered combat duty in 2020.

The Penicillin is mounted on the 8x8 Kamaz-6350 chassis and consists of a 1B75 sensor suite placed on a telescopic boom for the infrared and visible spectrum as well as of several ground-installed seismic and acoustic receivers as a part of the 1B76 sensor suite. It has an effective range for communication with other military assets up to 40 kilometres (25 mi) and is capable to operate even in a fully automatic mode, without any crew. One system can reportedly cover an entire division against an enemy fire. Besides that, it co-ordinates and corrects a friendly artillery fire.

The Penicillin system can hide in the woods and stick up its telescopic boom to look at and listen to the battlefield. As it does not radiate itself there is no good way for an enemy to detect it.

The system pinpoints Ukrainian guns as they fire. They are then eliminated by immediate precise counter-fire. As the artillery relevant part of today’s ‘clobber’ list provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense claims:...”

I was hoping to see some discussion about whether it is the real deal or someone’s dream. As an old artilleryman from the Korea days, we didn’t have such fancy equipment and depended or either air spotters or forward observers to locate enemy artillery.

I was artillery for a time also but I don’t have any great interest in it anymore.

I will catch some of this in a general way, the Russians have some new gain on artillery, and then the Ukrainians will have reactions to it and defenses and counters, and visa versa, but my only current interest is in the general direction of the war, not in the minutia of technology.

I think I saw another article that said this was a problem for the ukes, but like the drones, or a new missile, or new tactic, it is a back and forth with this stuff.

I am more curious about the effect all this new armor going to the ukes will have on their lighting strikes and attacks.

For counterbattery fire, you probably remember the old method of using the gash from incoming to try and guess where it came from.

“better threads”

Typically, I post the article and develop topic with a variety of comments to develop a current discussion regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This creates a log of daily events for both the Ukrainian and Russian citizens victimized by this Putin invasion.

Also, these multiple comments are not only reflective of current events encountered by the people. The multiple comments provide an immediate barrier from totally irrelevant ‘Pro-Putin Pushers’ snarky comments. :)

Works for me: provides sourced info while warding off abuse.

You don’t comment, you saturate and smother your own thread and make it unreadable, with no particular subject or theme, just a dumping ground of huge excerpts of what should be individual threads.

You appear to know that you are destroying the usefulness of your threads and say that you do it on purpose for some sort of voodoo to keep freepers from getting involved in the thread.

As you described your purpose.
