Colgate-Palmolive announced Wednesday it is voluntarily recalling 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso multipurpose cleaner over concerns about harmful bacteria.
According to the company, a manufacturing error meant a preservative was not added "at the intended levels" to eradicate Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, bacteria that can cause serious infections in people with compromised immune systems and other preexisting health conditions.
The recall impacts five varieties of scented Fabuloso manufactured between Dec. 14, 2022, and Jan. 23, 2023, including lemon, lavender and spring fresh.
Some 3.9 million bottles -- about 80% -- were never released for sale to the public, Fabuloso said.

“You’re soaking in it, now” seems a bit risky under the circumstances.
Obviously not an antibacterial soap.
In my area, their cleaning wipes are gone from the shelves, too.
I can’t find a date on the bottle. Any ideas?
Throw it away if in doubt, the stuff is cheap get rid of it!! I work at Home Depot OMG we had enough of this stuff to sink the Titanic, I was the one on shift when the recall came in it took my entire shift to clear it off the shelves and back up storage!!
Lots of teachers use Fabuloso because it’s cheap and masks bad odors with its strong scent.
Homosexual appeal right there.
My office is in an elementary school. I had to almost throw a hissy fit to get the janitors to stop using Fabuloso pre-COVID. That stuff was not anti anything and made me have asthma sttacks. Read about it. It is horrible for people with asthma.
