Yes, he was exactly right about the Soviets and advocated Universal Military Training for the United States. That’s about the only thing I don’t agree with him on.

Yes, if Patton saw America now he’d be beside himself and if he saw the very poor military leadership of today, he’d be sick. He’s probably beat the hell out of Milley.

Out of print now, and I curse the guy I lent my copy to.

"I never loan out my books. My whole library is comprised of books I borrowed from other people." (Benjamin Franklin)

> had Patton beaten their advance [to Berlin], East Germany never would have happened as a separate nation from West Germany <

That’s is an interesting scenario, but I don’t think it could have actually happened. Had Patton captured Berlin, he would have been ordered to withdraw. And he would have been replaced had he disobeyed.

Europe was pretty much carved up by then. And Berlin was not to be in the American sphere of influence.

It is worth noting that it was the Red Army that captured Vienna in April of 1945, after a very brutal fight. But Austria was not to be in the Soviet sphere of influence. So the Red Army withdrew.

Lol. I never knew that and it sounds like something Franklin would say.

At the least we could have moved into the Central European countries occupied by the Soviet Union.

Those Central European countries were promised by the Allies to the Soviet Union as part of the deal to keep the Soviets in the war.

The lesson of Napoleon and of Hitler is that if you don't conquer Russia and consolidate your control before the winter comes, you will die. And come spring, the Russians will still be there.

Nobody beats the Russian winter.

A little l'audace can be a good thing but too much l'audace gets you shipped home in a body bag.

Who the hell cares what Patton said about the Soviet Union. Only grossly ignorant doesn't realize modern-day Russia is a different country than old Soviet Union.

Russia has 13% flat tax rate, something free-market conservatives could only dream of in this country.

Putin has spent billions building churches and Russia has gone out of its way to protects its country from the LGBT agenda.

Now, Hitler’s mistake was not taking advantage of the general disdain of Stalin, especially in Ukraine, and try to ‘divide and conquer’ the Soviet Union.

Taking Moscow would have probably resulted in Stalin’s overthrow, and perhaps another Civil War.

Yeah, all those people falling out of windows, being mysteriously poisoned, disappearing and such. In other words as long as dictators build a few churches, a flat tax, and doesn’t like homos it’s to be appreciated? Nice to know you are onboard with anything as long as you get low taxes and a church building in your town.

You assume all those reports aren't propaganda on our end.

Since this war began, the media has claimed Putin was dead and Russia was using a body double. That Putin had stomach, blood and thyroid cancer. Russia has been running out of weapons and ammo since last March according to the media.

And, of course, you don't care that the country we're spending billions on has banned opposition parties, imprisoned opposition leaders, shutdown opposition media outlets and raided and closed churches. Ukraine doesn't resemble a free country or democracy.

Sure hasn’t worked out for several badass armies who tried

Wehrmacht

Le Grandé Armee

Both immediately come to mind

Even if you take the big cities

Yeah, all those people falling out of windows, being mysteriously poisoned, disappearing and such.

Like all those connected to the Clinton scandals have?

Do you think Jeffery Epstein committed suicide in prison? Do you think Seth Rich was robbed? Do you think the J6 protesters were insurrectionists?

Maybe you should focusing on all the mysterious death that Deep State had a hand in than worrying about Russia.

Don’t forget Kaiser Wilhelm during WW I. His armies won some impressive early victories against the Russians. Then things kinda turned into a stalemate.
