Chonky Cat Up for Adoption in Virginia Weighs 40.3 Pounds

A Virginia animal shelter is seeking a new home for a strikingly corpulent cat weighing in at a staggering 40.3 pounds.

Richmond Animal Care and Control said Patches the cat is on a special diet and exercise plan to help him come down to a healthier weight.

"Did you wake up today and say, 'Let's adopt the largest cat anyone has ever seen?' If so, we have the cat for you," RACC said in a Facebook post.

Veterinarians say the average domestic cat weighs about 10 pounds, although that number can vary by breed.

The RACC said portly Patches is seeking a new owner willing to help him continue with his weight loss plan.

An Australian cat named Himmy held the Guinness World Record for heaviest cat when he weighed in at 46 pounds, 15.5 ounces before his death at the age of 10 years and 4 months in 1986. The record-keeping organization has since retired the title category to discourage owners from over-feeding their pets.

Love the belly too..cat bellies are cute…baby bellies were cute too when my kids were babies, but they have forbidden me to mention that! Fortunately FB and Instagram didn’t exist then.

I ended up in the hospital for thirty days. My Tom, Thomas J. Kitty went from a steady 12 pounds to 18 pounds. Nervous eating.

He went from standoffish to a lap sitter. I make a lap and he occupies it.

It’s not just overfeeding.

Cats are obligate carnivores, but look at all the crap that’s in their cat food.

Isn’t it interesting that Deep State doesn’t go medieval on the heinies of pet food manufacturers.

Gee, I wonder why that would be...🤔

I think Patches’ mom fell into a pig sty when she was in heat.

I had a friend who had one cat die and another become seriously ill because of the tainted Chinese cat food.

We can sort that.

Our feline overlords can’t.

The stuff made domestically isn’t much better.

It just takes longer to harm our pets.

“Cats are obligate carnivores, but look at all the crap that’s in their cat food.”

We lost a cat to diabetes last year, and then his sister’s blood sugar levels began to creep upward steadily. We changed her kibble to a different brand (Tiki Cat), and ... hooray! ... she had improved when they did her blood panel last time.

There is so much crap in the regular food, as you say.
